To the little girl,
Who sits alone
With a book in hand
But secretly painting
Behind those sleeves
With her beloved pins

To the little girl,
Who is hiding the scars,
Of her battle with the world
Which she managed to win,
even with blood on her fingers

To the little girl,
Who is swallowing pills,
With a bottle of coke
Because she's curious
Whether she would die of it

To the little girl,
Who is standing on her bed,
Pondering where to hang,
the ropes on her hand
But always stops before the jump

And to the little girls,
Who are still battling
Beaten and bruised
But still won't give up
Believe me,
That you're not alone

      To the little girl writing
      Be not afraid in saying,

"One more day I will live,
One more day I will find,
One more day I will seek,
I will believe that He is kind."

May those who suffer find faith.
But not by my word, but by His neverending grace.

      Nothing can I bring,
But these helpful words I sing.

      I bring this song,
      For my arms are thin
      And not very long,
      To remind that little girl
She could bring my ear along.

I may not be a girl,
And I may not be little,
      But an ear I have,
      A heart I got,
To not let such a pure little girl rot.
