Why "men" and "harem" are trash?

This is just my rants about how cliche, infuriating and trash the nature of men in society are.
You could easily see it to the novels, manga, manhwa, animes you read and watch. Those with male protagonists mostly focus with creating harems and just be overpowered. Women in harems are always objectified and has to show great amoutn of skin and sexual innuendos to satisfy the "male" readers. Women will make efforts to be noticed by the male lead but the male lead will not make any eeforts but still want to have the girl!
If you're going to say, "Hey, the reverse harem is also the same!". No. The men in reverse harem has more dignity than those women in harem. They were given a chance to show their best and female will make time for them. There's no objectifyin or sexually harassing men.
Why does women always has to suffer?? Why does women always to be one to receive the judgment when it was clearly the man's fault?
Why women has to live their lives fearing men, when men should respect women?

      It's obvious that you will not enjoy harem and OP story, that's because what they were aiming and what you are looking for are different, most harems + OP is just for wish fullfilment genre, girls will fall for mc for nonsense reasons, and the MC always have golden fingers for his problems.

      Why there's so many of them out there?
      It's because it's very easy to create.
      But still, not all male will enjoy harem + OP, we still have brains, we can still differentiate what's good and what's trash, unless that person just want to satisfy his lust.

      That's why you can find "turn my brain off" or "mc is too stupid" in manga or novel, that's because the story is not good. most harem + OP story couldn't get past 8.0 in MAL.
      You still have to look at the rating, and if it's only wish fulfillment or not.

      Sheesh! Forget the wild stereotyping and judgmental attitudes of the blogger, just this excerpt alone, with its contradictory lines, tells me the OP is talking nonsense. To those who don't get it, replace the instances of 'men' with 'women' and see how it sounds. To think such sexist attitudes exist in this day and age...

      Just like women don't like how they're usually depicted in harems, men don't necessarily enjoy how they're portrayed in reverse harem as well— you'd be equally hard-pressed to find a man who'd share his partner. And I don't think I'd be wrong to consider men an overall better judge of their own portrayal.

      P.S. I haven't even commented on the 'enlightening' conclusion the OP has arrived at on half of the Earth's population based what they've seen in popular fiction.

      ... You're just reading bad harem stories I'd say?

      I mean, there are good stories out there with actual well-developed harem members that are interesting and add something to the story on their own without the need to constantly revolve around the protagonist.

      There are also harem stories without ecchi, innuendos and what not.

      I dunno, seems like you're judging a whole genre by its worst stories. It's as if I tried judging Shoujo by all the garbage with perfect Male Leads and retarded Female Leads instead of by the actually well-written stories with wonderful leads that slowly fall in love with one another while having a functional relationship... Like, geez, seriously, judge a genre by its good stories, not by the garbage.

      Seeing that "harem" and "reverse harem" are a type of genre, it's quite unfair to judge them based on several examples alone....

      But i have to admit, there's usually a different portrayals and focus between "harem" and "reverse harem". Probably because of its different intended audience, whom are assumed to share different values. There's an interesting theory called the " Male gaze" that i think can explain this phenomenon, although it's usually used to discuss the objectification of woman that prevalent in movies, as captured through the camera lenses.

      And yeah, i personally agree that harem genres are kinda suck, especially when they're literally everywhere and it actually harder to not find one rather than finding one:blobexpressionless:

      XD hate harem but likes harem with a "reverse" XD.

      Sorry but got to say that's some double standards right there.. Theres toxic harem novels on both sides... Don't ask me names.. I've read plenty of threads asking for abusive and manipulative female mc with reverse harem... Those matriarchy worlds with mpregs..


      Let me just say.. Harem in the whole is plain old satisfying sexual/egotistical desires... Both sides...


      Don't make this a men thing... Girls ain't reading scripture here :blobjoy:

      YESS, FINALLY
      For years I've been trying to explain why harems are disgusting to people who read novels with harems. You don't know how many times I've read an amazing summary and I'm excited to read it until I read the tags and it always almost says HAREM. Why, just why. Also why do men like reading them?
      Is it to boost their male ego and supremancy or some sh*t?
      Do they like degrading female characters with good depth to just some wh*re that hangs over one guys d*ck with like 20 other women?
      It's sick. And I hate the fact that it's so popular and that there are so many of them.
