serious question here. I actually want to enjoy the metal genre but not sure how I am suppose to listen to it. To me its a ton of screaming any tips for listening to that genre in general.
@NovaCi Metal is a diverse genre. That's why there is a lot of of sub genres. You don't have to worry about that. Extreame Metal is the segment which features a lot of the screaming. Stay away from that and you should be fine.
I'd recommend more traditional Heavy Metal for starters. Rainbow's Rainbow Rising is a solid start. Judas Priest is another solid band for People unfamiliar with the genre. Blach Sabbath is as well. So is Angel Witch, Iron Maiden, and Motorhead.
For something more modern is a Ghost is a solid pick.
Oh, if you ever want to go down the extreame metal rabbit hole. I recommend starting with Venom's Welcome to Hell & Black Metal for albums, and branch out from there.
