@Hotato Try speaking it. Its a tonal language. Each syllable has 5 distinct tones.

@Incarneous yup, i only learned till gr 10 too. In gr 11 guidance messed up my timetable and I couldn't stuff french back in rip
I did go to Montreal a few times though. Pretty place.

@Sakhyu Montreal is a nice place, everyone there is pretty fluent in English and French. Wouldn't want to live there though O.O B.C. has the best weather though it's in the earthquake zone.

Nearly took Japanese in grade 10... but didn't... I regret it.

never went to BC before haha. I was the volunteer for this basic japanese class but I really didn't learn much.
i really want to learn chinese tbh. dream goal lol.

Ohh well... Japanese is easier than Chinese to learn? Unless you speak Chinese with your parents? Then I recommend you start reading stuff with a dictionary by your side O.O Everyday, aim to recognize 30+ words and learn to write 5.

@Incarneous yeah I speak chinese at home! I never properly learned but I'm semi-fluent in speaking and I know pinyin. Just...never actually got anywhere after that aha

@Hotato... use a chinese-english dictionary! orz ... I avoid a chinese-chinese dictionary unless that's the only thing I have... which very rarely happens... like when I borrow someone else's cellphone in China... lol.
