The answer to that is a definite yes. All things happen for a reason, no matter how small or insignificant that reason may be.

It must have been fate then that I decided to greet you.

I am a servant of the cat gods, giving me omnipotence. As someone who writes a novel, writing a chapter takes a few hours, editing takes up 2-10X that and is much more annoying and a hassle than writing, so thy can't fool me.
