I know. But that's the only positive thing I could come up with.
If you want a complex answer:
The best way to fix things up would be to identify the root of the problem. I can't help you with that cause I'm not you nor do I know what you're going through. But honestly, exams are one of those things that could be fixed by effort. It's not like those emotional wounds you don't even see bleeding (... Or is it?)
We can't help but fail sometimes. And your friends passing do makes it more painful.
But, what you need right now is to lift your spirits up (by wallowing all your pain and b#tching as much as you want) so that you'll find the motivation to fix things up.
Is there nothing you could do to fix it up in the short term like retaking exams?
Studying would help relieve my pressure
Writing the stories I shouldn't have left in the first place and going out with my friends to have some fun should fix most problems.
And I do think that the solutions you mentioned earlier would be a great help on achieving your goal.
First things first, studying don't need to be too extensive considering you still have til next year. Just do it regularly and systematically. A good study sched is very very very helpful.
2nd, leisure is necessary for humans, you don't need to quit NU altogether (unless you think it's better that way). You could just limit yourself so that these activities won't mess up your study plans.
In short, balance things out, be positive (as much as humanly possible) and do what you can when you could
