It is possible to get 1 + 1 = 3. It just requires you to "divide by zero". By dividing by zero, anything is possible! Start off with 1 + 1 = 3. Now prove 1 = 2. After that proof, you can use conventional addition to get 1 + 1 = 1 + 2 = 3.
