When I was growing up males with glasses usually were portrayed as weak, meek to the point of being a punching bag without protest and also as effeminate barely considered a man. At least this was the case in my culture of America . This portrayal included all Asians because America racist stereotypes believe all Asians wear glasses. this is probably a misguided push back in Japanese culture to this problem
Glasses are associated with IQ and mental ability. Which you think would be a good thing however in the racial stereotype it is seen as meaning that you have no emotions and hormonal drives. Ie: you are seen as nothing more than a living computer and not really as an actual living human
