Fyi I was first in line to get it when it became available to healthcare providers. I had to ignore jokes about what I'd like to have written on my tombstone and walking backwards because of it
@Kurono just pisses me off when people are like "oh I don't know what it'll do to me. I don't want to take it. it's just a flu." I'm pissed at my coworker for not taking her fucking vaccine when she had plenty of opportunities.
Vast majority of covid deaths at this point are preventable. Some countries I know don't have enough vaccines but for a country that does it's fucking ridiculous that we can't even get the majority of people to take it
People are having second thoughts everywhere since new mutants of the virus are getting spread with more fatality than the previous ones and effectiveness of the vaccines available is also not very appealing to the mass.
@Triphily the current vaccines work fine against the varients. Specifically Pfizer and moderna. 95% effectiveness is pretty good and stronger vaccines are in the work. Then again I know those two aren't available everywhere and other vaccines have a lower efficiency but something is better than nothing
@OceanMagix possibly for the people in my office? There's only one other person here and she kind of has a slightly reasonable reason for being hesitant. she has a heart condition. I do think that the benefits outweigh the risk but that's for her consideration
That's what I tell my cousins and relatives as well but they are adamant against their stance of not getting vaccinated since it can cause casualties seen in 1/10000 or so~~
CDC: More than 318 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through June 21, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 5,479 reports of death (0.0017%)
