Yeah, Shiva is the Mahadev, right? He is in constant ecstasy, meditates always, is the past present and future. So like, we pray for liberation, nothing else. To be passionless and desire-less like him. And understand the cosmic truths of the purpose of life~
Tamilnadu~ And yes, Shiva is very big here, though there are an equal number of Vaishnavites and Krishna devotees~ I only worship Shiva~ though I go to all major temples~ Though only for an architectural visit. My belief is more... spiritual instead of religious~
*coughs* Not a star, more like a timeperiod. Like Feluda's name~ It's the dusk time when Shiva drank the poison that came from churning the Ocean of Milk~
Read *nods* guess the words are different that I was confused!
Ah tamilnadu alrwighhtttt~
*Nods* I see so that how it is! From what I saw in the Tollywood movie how they worship other devas I thought it's the same
Guess sometimes movies are also wonkyyy
XD I don't know what you saw in the movies, but each family itself it's different. But devotion is really big here. We have SO MANY poems and devotees for Shiva and Vishnu. Called the Alwars and Nayanars. That's where I get the poems and the stories ;>>
I was talking about those huge huge temples like Meenakshi temple and temples for narshima or others like ah the typical Tollywood movies
Anyway *coughs* I need to research more
I am not that good at reading Tamil, gives me nausea and headaches. But I am VERY good at memorizing, so I wanted my mum to find me that EXACT poem of Shiva's naked begging adventures in the Devaram so I can memorize to repeat everywhere, but she said, "=_= why are you weird?" So I stopped.
Ah, yesss~ they are all here~ Seeing Meenakshi's marriage which happens every year, they say will give you a husband like Shiva and a married life like theirs~ Didi should visit with her red lehenga sometime~
