Ok, so I remember parts from the beginning a little...bear with me here. A kid and his friends go to carnival or something and watches a show where a clown(?) looking guy throws a giant spider at the audiences' faces like Professor Snape. It creeps out everybody there but only fascinates the MC. Later the boy finds him, or tries to steal the spider, I don't remember but he ends up convincing the clown to turn him into a vampire. (Oh, did I mention? The clown looking guy is a vampire.) The clown throws him off of his house to fake his death then digs him up from his grave and gives him vampire training. That's about as far as I had seen it. Oh, and during his training the clown asks him if he wants to be a fighter type or runner type, then does something to scare and threaten him to which the boy takes up a fighting stance which makes the clown decide that he's gonna be a fighting type vampire. Anybody know it? I don't remember too well of anything. It was late at night and I just caught a few glimpses of it each time I changed the channel when the football match I was watching showed ads.
Darren Shan? I mean, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant? Read the books, haven't watched the movie
40 years ago my father worked himself raw on welfare missions to Bangladesh. Now you're watching football and random vampire movies like champs. world changes so fast
I wasn't saying you're doing anything wrong it's just nice to know the world changes for the better sometimes
The movie is kinda sad because it was semi-botched, like it was done so well but the writer and director of the movie decided to take some elements from later books, change some characters, and basically cut off any chances of a sequel. Meanwhile the book series is finished, super popular, and even had a manga created over in Japan due to its popularity there. Just looked it up and apparently, they put $40m into the production of this movie. Sounds like someone was embezzling because there's no way it actually took $40m to make that movie. Funnily enough, the sales of the movie are just over $39m, still $1m so that explains why there's no sequel.
I read the manga first then the book then the movie. Movie disappointed me. Darren Shan is one of a likeable emotional boy character i could find. He keep messing up and dragging others back though.
