You know, I have always thought Gongsun Wan’er was the best "girl" for Bai Xiaochun. She just gets him, right?

 

Gongsun Wan'er is a really curious character. Or to be more exact, the banesoul possessing her. She was introduced as this bloody creature who carried skinned cultivators for dolls and possessed maggot infested bodies, but look at her now. She's become this elegant woman, and semi-protector semi-comrade to Bai Xiaochun. At some point, the descriptions changed, and she's becoming sort of a love interest. She definitely had more exposure than Du Lingfei, and maybe Hou Xiaomei and Song Junwan.

I do too! But that's what's so shocking. Her introduction was so gruesome. Any novel that pulls off this kind of subtle, unnoticed development becomes an instant favorite for me. Shakugan no Shana is the only other case so far.

Seriously, all he does is put a multicolored flame in the turtle wok and the spirit enhancement is performed and completed with 100% success rate autonomously. How does this give him any knowledge at all on how to perform spirit enhancements? How does this improve his spirit enhancement abilities? How does this make him the most knowledgeable person on the subject? The only thing he knows more than anyone else is the end results, but not how to get them or how to improve the odds of success.

This is like saying I know the most about cars because I watched someone else make it and succeed.

 

Because he did the enhancements. Anybody who solves a problem knows it better than someone who hasn't.

 

He did not do the enhancements. In my understanding, the turtle wok has always worked by light the fire and toss in the item. He basically threw it in the microwave and pressed start. That doesn't mean he knows how to cook.

 

You're quibbling. Compared to someone who's never used a flame, yes they do.

 

The paragraph states that he knows more than ANYONE else. So it is not as simple as comparing him to someone who has never used a flame, but includes master chefs too. I can agree he learned from the experience, but not to the point that he is the topmost individual of that skill.

 

You assume someone's done it

 

Anyone with the turtle wok could have done it. He is irrelevant to the spirit enhancement process and its success. This is supported by his paranoia of the turtle wok being taken from him once someone finds out what it can do. He has no skill in spirit enhancement and only has a cheat item to do it for him.

 

Nobody else did it. Bai Xiaochun did.

 

The turtle wok did the enhancement.
