Any recommendations where the author abuse the ML emotionally/mentally? The ML made a mistake then regretted it but FL didn't give a fck about him. I want to see the ML suffers from his mistake. I don't want the FL to be softhearted. The ML needs to prove himself first. I'm open to anything; BG/BL, any type of time settings; modern/ancient.
The thing about 'love' is that it doesn't mean possession. After a fuck up, you can't fix it with just some actions or apologies. Cuz you broke someone's trust. Even if you make up for it, most times the insterest to date you would have dissapeared by then. Just like cheating in marriages, it will never be the same. Prolonging the relationship would just make it toxic. This is something I also wish to read, but WN authors tend to skim through much of the process. If they write this trope to be begin with.
