"Perchance, might anyone know of a nearby Library?"

She'd been procrastinating long enough! While still recovering from injury, Plumeria would spend her surplus time in the books. She needed information on Ki Arts. That would be the first step in creating her own.

 

In the corner seat of the tavern, Rei was drinking her favourite sake when she suddenly stood up as she felt a familiar tingling sensation.
"There is Somebody in town who is interested in learning Ki arts!"

 

Ayumi saunters into the tavern, loudly greeting everyone inside. "Yo!"

 

Flabbergasted, the Lamia whipped around to face a woman who'd been sitting at a corner seat of a tavern. Although she prided herself in her advanced senses, the girl's intuition was downright frightening. Tentatively, so presented herself

"Ah...yessss, I', interessssted in learning Ki artsssss! I'm Plumeria!"

"Helloo~"

 

"Hey there! Haven't seen you before."

 

"haha, I've been hibernating for a week or two. Had to recover my ssssstrength!"

Pulling up her clothing lightly, she revealed a still-healing wound in her abdomen where a sword hand pierced her scales and rent flesh.

After a moment to show her wound, she dropped her clothing and instead greeted.

"I'm Plumeria, and you are?"

 

"Hello there, sleepyhead. No pillow throwing this time okay?"

"Nice to meet you Plumeria. My name is Rei, a martial artist, and a Ki user."

 

Narrowing her eyes at the words Ki user, Plumeria smiled. "Pleassssed to make your acquaintance"

 

"Oh, that doesn't look good. You shouldn't get hurt like that, okay? Be more careful in the future." As Plumeria introduces herself, Ayumi remembers that she also hasn't introduced herself yet. "Oh, I'm Ayumi. If you know some bad guy, just tell me about him and I'll beat him up, 'kay?"

"No, why would-" starts Ayumi, until she recognizes Rei. "It's you!" Looking around and failing to find a pillow to throw, Ayumi softly curses to herself, before turning towards Rei and rather rudely asking: "So, who are you anyway?"

 

"Twasss jusssst a ssscratch!"

She hissed with subdued laughter. It wasn't often that people offered to fight on her behalf after all. "I'll make ssssure to point you in there direction Ayumi."

 

Remembering the wound she saw, Ayumi wonders: "That's rather large scratches you have. And deep."

"Thanks! There's nothing I enjoy more than beating up bad guys!"

 

"So you said you wanted to learn Ki arts correct? Have you manifested your Ki yet? "

"Hahahaha, I am seriously being disliked I see. I am Rei, a martial artist working as an adventurer. So tell me, how was it? Did you guys have fun after I left?"
Rei asked with a smirk

 

Ayumi's eyes narrow as she glares at Rei and defiantly questions Rei: "Why should I tell you?"

 

"They aren't assss deep assss they look, mossst of the damage wassss abssssorbed by my sssscalesss."

"Manifessst...Ki..?"

Unfortunately, the Lamia hadn't the slightest clue what manifesting Ki was, or that Ki needed to be manifested in the first place. She was a total beginner when it came to Ki.

 

"But... didn't you have to hibernate for two weeks?"

Ayumi curiously starts listening into the conversation, whilst trying not to show it.

 

"Graciousssly ignore thossse sssmall detailssss."

 

"I see. So we must start from the very beginning. Very well. This is not the perfect place for a lesson. Meet me at the guild tomorrow morning, I will take you to somewhere I can teach you."

"No need to be so hostile, I am just teasing you, and a bit curious.
Are you and Jack dating now miss.....I didn't ask for your name did I?"

 

"Ahh, much appreciated ssssenssei~"

Pausing briefly the Lamia then asked, "but about there being a library I could ussssse..?"
