Hi guys I am a bit confused with the latest chapters of against the gods. The main reason is due to the fact that when Xia qingyue thought Yun Che died didn't she promise in front of his grave next to the sword villa dude, saying in this life she will not be with anyone else. Yet all of a sudden she chooses to get married to the Moon Emperor. Obviously she thinks Yun Che is still dead according to the previous chapters when the maid asked Xia Qingyue about her previous marriage. But it literally goes against her character and will according to even Yun Che as he said in this chapter that she is the type of person that won't do something against her will etc. I feel like the author is messing up his own story.
"Husband… Let Qingyue be your wife in your next life as well… Is, that okay… That Qingyue will be a… proper wife..." This is the quote that you mentioned. Nothing mentioned that she won't married again in this life.
It's a shit novel bro, i'm pretty sure she's just gonna be another damsel in distress or some similar shit.
The only reason for her aiming for strength all the time, being distant was for getting her mother back/reunion of her family ... and there is a HUGE chance that the Moon Good Emperor holds her mother hostage and only allows her to go once XQY is his wife ... tbh XQY would be fit to have her own novel ... And as mentioned above: her vow was a promise for the next life!
That vow says husband as in present tense as well as stating that even in the next life they will be together. As in she stated Yun Che as her husband initially already. If you have a husband is it not natural to not get married again [in this context].
First, she thinks that Yun Che is dead and second, nowhere was it mentioned that only males are allowed to have more than one wife ... equality for the ladies too, please! Being 'natural' depends on your moral, social values ...
Lets be serious here. Unless it was a titanic troll (which would be a self-destroying move for the novel), there's no way that this plot line will be followed through to her actually marrying him. Consider the outrage already about over this arc plot then consider the insanity that would occur if she actually, fully married him. It would smell too much of cuckery, even if nothing actually happens.
I hope that XQY and Smooth Che escape, her mother however still kept hostage to allow Xia Yuanba to wreck the whole Moon God realm at a later date with his Tyrannical Emperor's Veins erupting as he hears that his mummy isn't treated nicely ...
