turns out i got addicted. so i decided to share it to you guys. it was fun while waiting for new translation updates!

But the people there were proud of themselves.

They persistently claimed, that humans are the only important race in the world.

Of course, inside this world where the majority of demi-humans already became a part of daily lives, their opinion are considered a madman’s rambling.

Even fellow humans from other country are thinking of them as troublesome fellows and ceased to consider them as fellow respectable living beings.

Without anybody paying attention or even caring about them, the country already became a lawless area.

Since nobody wanted to get involved with them, trade from other countries has halted and they barely got any supplies.

Trying to find a solution, the higher-ups of the country had a meeting.

At the moment, their bishops declared a revelation to the higher up.

"Without a doubt, it is the demons fault. The demon king brainwashed our fellow human to make us fight with each other".

The demon king.The existence that threatened humans and demi-humans alike.

Ever since the demons declared war 200 years ago, all of the other nations are busy to fend off the demon invasion.

There were periods of peace in between, for example, when a hero defeated the current demon king. So it wasn't exactly a complete 200 year war.

The demons only attack after a newly crowned demon king rose in power.

The latest demon king was crowned around 5 years ago, so both human and demi humans started their war against the demons again.

Of course, within that time they wouldn’t have any time to hear a madman rambling about them.

As a result, they are mostly being ignored. Some of the nation even assumed they already fell because of the demon invasion.

"But if that's true, why are the demons attacking the demi-humans too?"

One of younger higher ups asked. Seems like the younger generation still has some sense.

"The demons think they're the only important race in this world! Of course they would try to wipe out the other races too! Or perhaps those furballs are too STUPID to be brainwashed, so the demons think of them as an annoyance as well."

Talk about a pot calling a kettle black. if other nation heard this, their opinions about Averunks kingdom would plummet even further.

"Hence, we must join the war against the demon king and defeat it by ourself. That way, every nation would have no choice but to recognize OUR nation as the supreme nation it is."

"But, how? Our nation has no manpower to join the war. Not to mention that we barely maintain order inside our country."

One of the older higher up suggested with a smug face.

"This is not a problem. Actually, we have found an ancient scroll from our ancestor. It's a ritual for summoning heroes."

“Oohh”

All of them sounded impressed.

"Wait," The younger one from before asked, "Even if we called the heroes, they're still people from another world right? Is there any guarantee they would join us instead of another nation with more power and stability?"

However, the bishop still maintained his smug face.

"No need to worry. Although they're heroes, the record states only young people before reaching their 20's can be summoned. We can convince them that we're the only nation left in this world and need to send them to places where only demons live. Thankfully our countries has been ignored so brainwashing...conviencing them until they're ready to kill demon king will probably be enough. At that time, they would already become a part of our nation and won't think of moving to other countries."

The higher up who asked seemed a bit worried about hearing the bishop mentioning brainwashing. But he agreed, that if nothing was done, their country would be ruined.

“What if they want to return to their world? How do we explained it to them?" the younger higher up asked.

"It's fine. The summoning is one-way only. The heroes won't know that, so we can just say that the demon king is the only one who knows how to return the heroes to another world. Any further question?"

Everybody remained silent.

"Then, if everybody agrees, we will start tonight. In fact, I already finished the preparation for the summoning and we could start at any time".

“Damn old crook, so he already knows this would happen,” they thought.

But the idea was tempting. And leaving it to the heroes is not a bad idea as well, since they wouldn’t have to fight themselves.



-On that night-

Inside the king’s hall, a bright light came out, and four silhouettes showed up from inside.

“Welcome, brave warriors from another world.”

The king of Averunks said.

The first to come out was a tall, handsome boy with brown hair. He looked like a dependable type with a confident look on his face.

The second one was a boy with blonde hair. He looked like a hooligan punk from street. With intimidating eyes he glared at the king. His height was shorter compared to the first one.

The third one was a cheerful type girl with short and brown colored hair. She looked like an idol in school, one of the most popular in school.

The heroes looked at each other first, recognizing each other.

And when the fourth circle appeared...

Everybody looked speechless at the fourth one.

The fourth was a girl with long black hair and tall height. Appearance-wise there's no problem, but different from other three, she was still playing on some PC console from the original world, probably because she held the pc when she got summoned. And it seemed like she was still immersed into game shown in the monitor with a cool-like face.

However the problem was...

“AAHHHH!! ONIICHAN! N.. NOOO, THAT PLACE IT.. AAH URGH *SLURP* MMPH NA!? NYAAHHN”

The sounds of the game could loudly be heard, even though she was wearing a headset.

A few second later, the pc started to disappear. Probably because only heroes could be summoned.

"Huh? Wait!? Aimi, where did you go? No, console the onii-chan more! Noo, AIMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!"

After a few minutes she realized she wasn't inside her room anymore.

 

- Am I a goblin? HELL NO! -



"Shit, the fuck are you calling for old man? Personally, I like to call the pizza delivery since making people dance under my thumb and getting troubled because of my personal wishes is pleasuring, but it's a different matter altogether if i'm the one GETTING a call."

She yelled with a shameless red face. The king blushed bright red after being called an old man.

But he regained his composure shortly afterwards.

The other heroes looked troubled and didn't know what to say.

Even the hoodlum that looked like he wanted to say something to the king that summoned them is impressed, and he whistled.

"Hmm? So why can we talk to each other? This is another world, right? Why can everyone speak japanese?" the girl asked.

It seemed like she understood the situation.

Hearing that, one of the advisor replied, "It... It's because “language comprehension” is one of the default skills of heroes. So there wouldn’t be any trouble communicating in your language..."

"Ahh i see, so that's why you guys heard what Aimi said... Wait, HOW DARE YOU GUYS HEARING AIMI-CHAN LOVELY VOICE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION? DO YOU WANNA DIE AAHH!?"

‘You're the one making us hear it!’ Everyone silently retorted.

"W-We didn't hear it! The language comprehension only works for heroes, not for tool from another world," the guy answered panickedly.

The delinquent is the only one laughing while holding his stomach.

"Sigh, whatever, personally I wanna kill everyone here to erase your memories of my lovely aimi-chan’s voice, but it’s not time for that, I guess."

‘So you want to kill us all for such a trivial matter!’

"Ehem, so I better explain the situation then,” the king returned to his composure and started the conversation.



After that...

"That's why, brave heroes from another world, would you save this world from the demon king?"

After a RPG-like explanation from the king, omitting some parts of course, the heroes answered,

"Of course, if there's people in trouble, I will do it."



"If Shuu-ya is joining, then I suppose me too."

The Ikeman and the cheerful girl answered.

The delinquent didn't answer for a while, while the black haired girl seemed to ponder.

"Oi, Shuu, are you really sure? This isn't our world you know? If something happened to you, what am i supposed to say to auntie?" The delinquent asked. He was surprisingly a good guy.

"It's fine, Yuya, I know mother would be happy if I help people in need."

"This isn't the time to say that, you know? You might... No, definitely die!" the hoodlum named Yuya retorted.

"Yuya, exactly because it's dangerous, I must do it. You should understand this better than anyone else, right? That time, with my sister, I..."

Shuu expression darkened. Yuya couldn’t said anything anymore and became quiet while mumbling "whatever". The short-haired girl patted yuya on the back, as if she was consoling him.

‘It seems like those three are friends?’ The black haired girl thought.

She mumbled into her mind, "Sigh, this seems troublesome. A party full of staple-heroes with friendship, love, and a bad end" The black haired girl thought while furrowing her brows.

"Ooh, thank you, brave hero!"

“I still need to explain some things, but let’s call it a day for now and continue tomorrow.

We already prepared a feast tonight, so go ahead and enjoy it.

Since it was a long day, the heroes don’t seems to have any further question.

‘Hey, wait! I still wanna ask...Tsk, whatever. guess tomorrow is fine’ the black haired girl thought.



- At the banquet -

"Come to think of it, we haven't introduced ourselves yet, right? Well, I guess most of us already know each other. but it wouldn’t hurt to do it anyway, correct? I am shuu. Narukami Shuu, second year Isogami High."




The delinquent and the short haired girl didn’t seem to be surprised, and the black haired girl was busy munching on the food and ignored them.

"Narukami Yuya, first year from Isogami High as well."

The delinquent seemed hesitant about something.

‘Since they had the same family name, were they siblings? Though the hoodlum didn’t seem to get used to his name. Perhaps he's an adopted child?

I’m a bit surprised he was younger than me though.’

"Oh, my turn, my turn! I am Himegami Arisa, also a second year grader from Isogami High. Nice to meet you! Ah, i already know Yuya and Shuu-ya from school, though this is first time we talked to each other, right?"

"Haha, there's probably nobody in school who doesn't know you. Isn't that right, yuya? Though, what's with Shuu-ya?"

The delinquent stayed silent , and the girl named Arisa continued to eat.

“Ah, it's because everyone in the school calls you shuu-ya, so I automatically... should I call you in another way?" The girl muttered with a cute look.

"No, no. it's fine. I'll call you Arisa then from now on, is that fine?"

"Sure!" Arisa replied cheerfully.

After they introduced each other, it was finally the black haired girl turn.

Sigh it's my turn next, huh... but, I'm bad at conversing with people my age... Especially those guys that look like Riajuu... Though i can speak easily to "bad" people or someone without friends. I wonder why?

Seemingly giving up, she decided,

Yosh, i'll just keep eating!

"Next is... uhh"

Shuu seems troubled and glance at Yuya, asking for help. Yuya couldn’t help but sigh.

"Hey, glutton pig over there. Stop getting so close with food, you are not bound to each other by fate. You can hear us, right? Go introduce yourself and get it over already!"

Hearing that, the girl stopped eating and stared at him.

Once she calmed down, she agreed to finish it already.

"Mika...furuan *cough cough* gobi"

Since she spoke in such a hurry, the food got stuck inside her throat and her speaking became incomprehensible.

"Goblin? Haha. it fits you. Only a small fry could have a big mouth like that, or is your stomach like that too?"

The delinquent looked amused.

When the girl finally swallowed the food, she only smiled silently and pointed a middle finger at Yuya.

"Ebisugawa mika. Second year Isogami High."

She only spat out short sentences.

 

Chapter 3

- What do you expect from a NEET? -



"Umm, Ebi.. Mika-san? Are you that student that never went to school?"

Arisa tried to speak politely, but since my family name was kinda hard to say, she said my first name instead.

"Oh, I think I saw that name in the class attendance record before. It's been... What, two weeks? A month? Maybe a year since it’s last been signed?" Shuu said.

Even he, who had a perfect attendance record seemed to never have seen me before.

"Hmm, haha! Now I remember. I heard of a rumor. Aren't you that creepy woman that always laughs on the rooftop of school alone while watching your smartphone? My friends thought that place is cursed and got scared from incomprehensible chants they heard from the rooftop." The delinquent said to me in a good mood. Seems like he remembered something funny.

How rude, I always come to school! But, when I think of going to school, my legs start to get tired, and I went to school inside my head while sleeping inside my futon.

Sometimes I might come to school, but I can't differentiate if it's inside my head or actually in reality.

Even my parents have given up on me and said, "Do whatever you want."

In this world, the status can be appraised by people with appraisal skills.

Their titles can be read as well, but other than the skill user, nobody can see the skills.

Most titles have a relation to what they do in life, for example, a thief would have the title “thief”.

To know how dangerous it was, danger ranks are usually ranked from E to A.

A S danger rank existed, as well as a S adventurer rank, but the amount of times it showed up in history could be counted on one hand. I heard no S ranked adventurer existed currently, and S ranked monster never left their territory, and nobody provoked them without any reason, so they never became a target of subjugation.

That means it's one rank under the current highest. Yeep, a newbie like me is gonna get crushed.

Ah said previous monster from the canyon seems to be even beyond S rank, legendary perhaps... I'm not sure.



Luckily, the monster there never got out of the forest, probably because just living there was more comfortable. There's no reason to leave, since food in forest is abundant because of said monster mana.

Beside them, an out-of-place young man wearing clothes like a rich aristocrat was there.

That man was a subordinate of the king, sent to supervise them.

Asking that, the man was glared at by everyone there. The sight almost made him pee into his pants.

After putting something into the trees, she put all of her strength to push it to Garon.

With a disinterested face, Garon ignored the trees.

Well, that’s understandable. He mowed down the entire forest. Why should he be afraid of one tree?

But that carelessness turned to be fatal.

Inserted into that tree were numerous amount of magic scrolls.

Fire, wind and earth magic scrolls, with complicated inscription that turned it into different magic.

Mika knew the theory behind magic scroll, but doesn’t know how to make one.

All she knew was that the inscription inside the magic scroll "gave" a command to the magic inside the scroll.

Most of them are only simple command like "out" to let the magic inside out.

That’s why she experimented with combining multiple scrolls and changing their command.

By changing the command to “compress”, “combustion” and “dust”, she made a pseudo-dust explosion scroll.

Of course, she didn’t know the theory behind it, and she only thinks it’s similar to a dust explosion.

To explain it in one word, it was made by her instincts.

As such, a new, completely different magic was created.

Since she made it with the image of a black hole, it was more fitting to call it

"gravity explosion!"

A small concentrated explosion occurred without sound.

Despite its smallness, everybody knew it wasn’t a normal explosion.

Because of the highly concentrated magic inside the scroll, everybody knew how dangerous it was.

The "explosion" will occur in less than one second.

Garon looked surprised

But he quickly regained his composure.

Using everything he got, he smashed the tree with his axe.

The light was blinding,

Dust made it hard to see.

And after the view was clear,

Garon was still standing.

With his axe broken to pieces.

Garon, who sensed that something was wrong when the tree started to shine felt danger from the tree’s husk.

Using all his might, he unleashed his trump card "howling smash".

Actually, when mowing down the trees, he didn’t use skill at all,

The reason being, most of his skill are single target.

It wasn’t fit to mow down many foes.

And his trump card effect "howling smash" concentrated his magic power, wind, and formed it into a sharp blade with the form of a sphere

That made the enemy who fight him terrified, with their comrade’s corpse scattered all over the place.

However he use all of his might to fend off the explosion.

Though, as a result, his weapon exceeded the magic capacity and broke.

But thanks to that, he managed to put some distance from the explosion’s area.

If it was a normal explosion he probably would get hit by the area.

But if it were normal, it wouldn’t be enough to kill him.

Considering that, it’s probably best move from him. If the magic inside the scroll is mid rank or even high rank-

Then he would probably disappear from the face of this world without any traces left.

Garon’s face changed.

He glared at Mika

Even though this fight was fun, he couldn’t shake this feeling away.

But Garon still didn’t respond.

"Hey, uhmm are you mad? Ah, is it because I broke that axe? Ahh, sorry about that. You know, I can buy you a better axe. Just gimme a month, no, a week! As a bonus, I can include you some armor too. You won’t find a better bargain than this. Deal? Deal? I know you will”

And just like that, Garon returned to his camp.

"Kyle" he start to call his second in command.

With the money from this job, he’d find a new weapon, seal a devil inside, and make a new pact.
