So, a lot of us know the tyranny of Webnovel and their vast power. For those who don't, here's some information. They own the vast majority of Chinese webnovels i.e they own the licence for the said webnovels.
Well, a lot of good webnovels are often dropped by them because there aren't enough readers supporting/paying the webnovel so these projects are canned. (which is understandable cause they are a business, not a fan site) And, even voluntary translations are refused.
If independent translators do go ahead with it, as soon as the webnovel translation gets popular, they are slapped with legal charges for ownership and everything.
They will literally keep a hold on those novels like leeches.
SO, what is you translate the novel in google docs and upload it on google drive and share it? Or what if you translate it and circulate it privately?
Obviously, I don't think those who do this can take any sort of monetary compensation or such, so those tls will have to do this purely for their passion and motivation to spread the novel. (I'm probably wrong idk. point it out if you know the legal stuff about this)
    Does this method work?

Too much work, not only for the translator but also for most of the readers.

Eh, I don't read from Qi anymore. Most of their recent authors like to use poetic description too much to get easy word counts and more chapters but the plot is only moving by 1/1000th. I only like You Qian anyway from Qi. Nowadays I like Jinjiang better, at least most of the novels there (including Quick Transmigration series) are within my tolerable range of patience to finish reading to completion (around 300~500 chapters max). Their novels are mostly leaning to shoujo and BL types, but there are some shounen types I think, just need a little bit more digging. Too bad they don't have English website, would've love to send some torpedos to author that really worth it.

You're better off leveraging block chains...because your method fails to address the initial problem and will eventually get found out if it becomes popular enough. So might as well just go with making yourself hard to get a hold of.

As far as i know if you are a translator and agree with Webnovels Terms and Conditions you could restart a project there...
I myself do not see any legal or longterm other way to get a project done without fast mtl because on one end a motivation in form of views would be low and if you get an donate etc button they could sue you legaly.

DMCA include google drive, you need to back up all the time, on rare occasions, you will lose you google account, so probably use a throwaway account? But it is really too much work. But then again, if you really like that book, who gives a shit how much time it will take you.

Why do we still hate qidian? I know the original reasons, but now most translation site have some sort of paywall. I am really asking for clarification, not trolling.

The agressive way it took against the "same" people who did the job of translations first for years without a big company. Not ony with DMCA but also taking the translated chapters as if the invidual translation could be taken as their.
The "paywall" system is like casino games or mmorpgs with play to win.
The system is not clear you need to exchange real money into some kind of own currency and donate/pay for each work you want to read.
If you do the math you get a way less for your money you could pay Netflix account or Amazone/Google premium flaterate for books.
