Jesus! The information of the footnote is overwhelming. The translartors must be so obsessed to this novel, as I can fell the passion and devotion with in it. I'm willing to know the name or this novel if it's not bothers you. Once again, salute to these conscientious translators.
It's Night Emperor. Sadly only a few chapters ever got translated. No surprise because it requires a crazy amount of effort to work on. The thing is, the book really does warrant that amount of detail. Most Chinese readers would already know more than that, and the book itself goes into way more detail on all sorts of aspects of Chinese life later on. This is the writer who first popularized the super detailed historical novel and is the reason why non-Chinese historical novels just can't compete in my opinion.
