What do you use? Whats the best? Why?
Basically I'm a long time Animeplanet user, but I KEEP on seeing people use MAL and talk about how great MAL is, so I figured ehh. I might as well try it out! First huge problem, it has almost no novels, and BASICALLY NO Naver stuff. I know, Naver essentially comprises all of Manhwua and basically everything produced in Korea, how can this be? Well it's simple. They won't allow anything which doesn't have PHYSICAL distribution. Yeah, in the day and age of webtoons and webnovels if its not printed its not gonna be there. So yeah, fuck MAL making me spend ages moving my lists across only to realise they don't support a LOT of the content I've consumed. But I was in the mood to move so I thought I'd try Anilist too, since I saw it somewhere and it actually seems to have more titles than MAL (which surprised me, I just had this image of MAL holding everything in the past.) and while it seems... OK? I don't know why but it feels a little impersonal to me, maybe I'm too used to Animeplanet.

Anyway, I basically keep all my novel shit on here (no wonder) but I'm also kinda hoping to centralise it all? Does anyone know a place which tends for anime, mangas and novels? Anyway, at the moment as I see it I'll probs stick to NU for what it does, and I'm not sure between Anilist and Animeplanet now. Both are MILES better than MAL simply because they actually, you know, HAVE CONTENT, but its hard to choose.

As for MangaUpdates, I basically just use that to reference, find stuff, and sometimes look for recommendations based on stuff I like. While I've USED it a lot for that purpose, I've never really been tempted to actually use it to store stuff? Maybe cuz of the shit graphics? I'm not sure.

    So, what're your thoughts?

NU for novels, Mangaupdates for Manga, MAL for anime. .. I also occasionally glance at AniChart.

Disparaging MAL for not having a light novels section doesn't really make sense when it sells itself as being myANIMElist.

Also, I massively prefer MAL's layout to animeplanet.

I only use NU. For anime, I maintain a notepad. For the rest, I live my life.

ANN is much better for the details. AniChart is just, well... a chart. I glance it over to see if anything jumps out at me.

For novels I only use Nu AMD don't plan on using anything else. As for anime and manga at most I only take a quick glance At Mal sometimes.
As for centralization I definitly don't want that.

Well MAL does have almost all japanease Manga, and contains both an Anime List and a Manga List, that seems to have the same purpose as AnimePlanet and Anilist who both ALSO have the same thing, except better I think.

NU for novels, MAL for anime and for whatever reason, I've never bothered tracking manga. I prefer to keep things separate, one site for all of that sounds horrible. Specialization is a good thing.

That's also what I do, except I also made an account in Anime Planet a long time ago, but I haven't updated (and never will) in ages. For upcoming anime I I skim through AniChart, the seasonal anime in MAL and I see one or two videos of "Top 10 (or 20) upcoming anime for the next season" in 1.5 or 2 times the speed. That way I don't need to look for the trailers, can see a bit of the animation and get a feel of what is crap and what's not that crappy.

My lists in Editor. It's a basic writing programm on every windows edition. That's why I never really used batoto or mangedex much because they don't have manga title nor chapter in their link!
