I must be swift yet cautious -- for one misstep could lead to a precipitous fall. I have elected not to bring very much plate armor with me into the dungeon, as I feared that that full mail would over-encumber my movements. I am, however, wearing only the chest plate as part of my cuirass. Additionally, I have brought a round shield and a set of axes. There is a reason why I chose to favor the war axe over the saber/sword. Slashing weapons become dull over multiple uses, and only a soldier or goblin slayer would be familiar with the fact that a blade covered with grime and blood is no more useful than a blunt instrument. In this sense, an axe has the properties of both of a sharp weapon and a heavy blunt weapon like a mace, and in my opinion will provide the best versatility against armored dungeon monsters like... I dunno giant crabs. Today I also fashion a spear and harden the point over my evening fireplace.

It seems to look like some kind of clock? However, it has six arms and the numbers around the clock range from one to forty eight. A large chunk is missing from the back panel. It is surely broken. I will send it to the surface anyways. Perhaps it might have some value I cannot identify with my crude eyes.

XD the first episode was really gruesome but eventually I went back to read the novel which was a lot more tolerable.
Oh? There is a novel even? I thought the original was a manga~ I didn't watch the anime, but it's hard to not know of it with all the hype and what not~
Yup the original is a novel. I'm not really sure I can really recommend the anime at all because it's really just a lot of blood and gore, so definitely don't watch it if you don't like that kind of thing -- I still think I like grimgar better in terms of a "realistic" fantasy adventure series. I feel like ordinary people are far too happy-go-lucky in the goblin slayer world for how brutal the actual environment is. The atmosphere feels mismatched.
I see... I'm honestly fine with blood and gore in all honesty, I'm more troubled by art style than gory scenes (as in, I'm fine with Hellsing, but not with Gantz, for example). I think it might be alright to have a mismatch of brutal environment and happy-go-lucky though? I mean... People can't be depressed or dead serious all the time after all~ Maybe I'll take a look at one or both of them sometime in the future~ Who knows?

How far could a 7 year old child get in this dungeon anyways? I think I will try to search another 100-200 meters for now.
