I've been reading a number of these otome game-turned-on-its-head stories lately and thought I'd pick up an actual games. Lets just say I didn't get quite what I expected. It's like these games tend to aim for normalcy or something. I've found them rather boring, so far. I also don't feel like shifting through them until I find something with the same air I'm looking for. Preferably, something fantasy-esque with an adventurous air. I just want to give it a try sometime. Any recs for players who're coming at it from the manga/lightnovel/anime angle?
The world of otome games is tough for mobs The Villainess's flag Yahari ore no seishun ga machigatteiru Hail to the king The Marquiss's Eldest son lascivious stories Otome game no heroine de saikyou Elf no kuni no kyutei madoushi The magical revolution of the reincarnated princess Akuyaku reijou ni koi wo shite
thanks for the recs, for me that is, but this guy is asking for an actual games. also does otome games in general low spec pc friendly?
It is actually hard to find games with lower pc requirements than otome games and visual novels you actually cant go lower than them
All of these are android, no clue if they have an iOS counterpart. For the PC counterpart, you could probably play them on bluestacks. Here's some good ones; Amnesia: Memories Androud, Amnesia: Memories Premium Android ($29.99). Amnesia: Memories PC ($11.49) Hakuoki Android; Hakuoki, Hakuoki: Premium Edition ($29.99). Hakuoki PC, DLC's I think are optional; Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds & 2 DLC's (10% off $23.19) (Part one) Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms & 2 DLC's (10% off $23.73) (Part two) Here's some from NTT Solmare Corp that you may like but I'm unsure if you would; Wizardess Heart, Ninja Shadow. Here's some that I haven't played but that seem interesting enough that I'm giving them a try; Forest of Destiny: Otome, Lost Alice. There used to be more really good ones but since google play has been deleting apps, that or the people themselves have been deleting them, you just can't find the good older ones anymore. (That took forever to get the steam links for the PC versions of Hakuoki, it was fighting me lol)
I recently play this game : Time Princess There are so many books choice in that game, so you can play all kind of game story. There's romi and julius, queen marie antoinette, ghotam memoirs, Little women, tang dynasty hunter, magic lamp etc
I vaguely remember [The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion] having an adapted VN available on Steam, is that what you meant? Interesting Ones on Steam: Paper Bride Series Samurai Maiden Chaos;Head Noah Needy Streamer Overload ATRI VALHALLA: A Cyberpunk Bartender
MY NEXT LIFE AS A VILLAINESS: ALL ROUTES LEAD TO DOOM! ~THE PIRATE WHO SUMMONS TROUBLE~ There's no Girl route sadly, but there's friend route with all of the girls.
To be honest, as someone who plays otome games, I feel like the tropey otome isekai novels are written by people who barely or don't play otome games and/or confused them with shoujo manga so don't expect for a large chunk of otome games to be anything like those novels. As for the recs, as mentioned before, My Next Life as a Villainess and Raeliana has game adaptations but they aren't translated. For fantasy-esque, there's Code:Realize, Steam Prison, Taisho x Alice, etc. Also, most translated otome games are for the Nintendo Switch for now, and they most likely won't get a PC ports (though there's definitely some otoges on Steam). I don't like mobile otome games since they have bad/greedy business practices and sometimes really bad translations. englishotomegames is a blog that shows English otome games. You can also look them up on VNDB. Those are galges (male protagonist -> female love interests), not otome games (female protagonist -> male love interests).
