Audio Book Versions

Hello,

I started working on a project recently to convert some of the novels referenced on this site into audio books using text to speech narration. Its slightly off putting but really not unbearable when you get used to it. I enjoy audio books more than physical reading because I can do other things while I listen and I can also listen in bed with my eyes closed. I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone else might have any interest in these types of audio books, since I'm already doing the conversion work it seems kind of odd to keep them to myself. Not really sure about the legality of distributing these either so maybe its not really feasible to share. Anyways, let me know if you have any interest or advice.

I always listen to mine using TTS...
but why do the conversion when you can easily do the text to speech on a mobile?

The advantage of a proper audiobook is the quality of the voice narration...

 

Yeah but I have to finish documenting all of Logan Paul's known recorded double dabs first.

 

I'm using Amazon's Polly "ai" which is supposedly good (ehh jury is out). The benefit for me is that you can run it through an audio book app and get bookmarks and multitask on the phone. Not really sure my way is any better though.

 

well never tried polly, honestly, since when i saw it it was a payed app... Still using Ivona tts which is like Polly beta version and was free for a long while... (Ivona was the best at the time so id think probably polly is the top now)

I don't have issues with your solution, i just rather have the .txt/.epub files than the .mp3 (?) files... you can also put an app reading the files on the background of your mobile phone and multitask.
If there are people looking for the audio files then there is an opportunity!

 

Interesting, I thought I was the only one who liked .txt files.

 

I used a notepad for my manga reading list for a long long time! >.<

I changed to google docs some 2 months ago because of multiple devices...
