Just sharing this video of these stunningly beautiful places with crystal clear waters. I found the Jiuzhaiguo Valley (anyone know what the name means in English?); China, pretty cool & interestingly beautiful with its various different characteristic of all 108 surrounding lakes. In addition of the accompanying mystical legendary story that just makes it more fascinating. Plus the people sneaking in just to take a dip into the water is just hilarious Oh, the Blue Lake; New Zealand, for some reason the tribesmen & tribal name reminded me of Disney's Moana Or am I just the only one? Behind this thing is a special place that ocassionally produces crystal clear water and is certainly beautiful. So why is it not in the list ?
Mm, I recall clear waters off the coast of southern Thailand, but that was 14 years ago, even before the tsunami, so I dunno if things have changed since then. Though....even if the water was clear, there were a ton of these little arthropod things (sea lice, maybe?) that'd bite you when you swam so it was far from the most pleasant experience. In any case, I'm not a huge fan of swimming, generally.
Ouch! There are many places in Indonesia that have crystal clear sea water. You can find them in Raja Ampat, Weh Island, Bira, etc. Anyway, I just found this place on the blog. Spoiler: Saleman Bay {} Saleman Bay is located on the Seram Island, Maluku. Well, Maluku is famous with its many beautiful beaches. Back to Saleman Bay, we can see the coral reefs clearly from the boat. It is also surrounded by wooden houses standing above the water. It's really a beautiful place.
Jiuzhaigou means Nine Forts Ditch. Anyhow, Ai-chan has dived in Sipadan, Sabah and can attest that it's very clean and transparent. There are also many clear inland rivers in Sabah and Sarawak, though Ai-chan can't remember the names of those places. It's like one of those secret paradises that you have to ask the locals to find.
