I honestly don't know lol. But in case I didn't remember right, here's what little I remember from skimming the ending:

-ML has humanoid form
-MC and ML take care of a bunch of Knox (I think that's what ML's race is called?) cubs. I don't think it's mpreg, it seemed like they found other surviving eggs to hatch and take care of.

As what i can remember thenmain villain is some kind of a mind controlling colony wherein the strongest controls them all and also the one who released that virus. They jumped from diff universe? to another until they reached the ml's universe and become facinated with the knox race and wanted to take over but knox race stopped them by self destructing, and ml as an egg got implanted by the virus before they left thats why his egg turned black.

 

I finished reading it. Its good, but im not really shipping ml with mc

 

How come? Can you elaborate on the reason?
It's kind of rare that a canon pair is not shipped if the reader has completely finished the novel

 

It started out with mc raising ml and welp.... sorta ml fixated on mc and to me ml is sorta 2d dimensional.... it was sorta too easy and realise who ml is

so they made plans beforehand
in short,m they abandonded the mermaid cuz it couldnt speak, but had rare mutated ice ability
usually mermaid sing and use their voice to use their powers
like using water and etc but ice is very rare
so the clan thinks of getting my cub back
ofc mc doesnt let them and in court it was everything revealed
so everyone stood at mc side
they also visited the parents grave
they actually loved the baby mermaid cub, but died before that
so the ppl that abandonded it was that clan

they cat cub race is dead
and also hated by ppl cuz of bad rumours of the race of destroying itself
so mc had to prevent cat of destroying the world
cat got older and is then an adult
there was one time mc traveled to the another timeline where cub ml destroyed the world
so he was in the ship as prisoner and met the adult mermaid without the gold imprint`

they knew mc has just limited time

that was supposed there but its abandonded
cuz in this timeline there was no mc to help
mc met the one that worked together with him in the center in his own timeline
and gave her the money to open a care center
ofc mermaid shared the memories with the other cubs
but not with female worker
likely cuz she wouldnt be able to handle it that mc life was so better
with the care center
anyways
mc was then back to the other world
plot revealed about cat race
they were saviours and saved the whole world for 30 years
but then enemies came back
and fight
and mc died there
and ml joined the enemies
mc was back in earth
and ml found him again
and ml apparently had commanded the enemies to self destruct
so they had to follow through it
ml worked to the top there
so they followed his orders
ehm there was extra where timlines were merging
so they met the adult ones
and it was fluffy and etc`

 

Yahoo I finished mtl-ing this novel... It was great... At first, I thought that the general will be ML but it turned out to be the Knox but man after the night of ML and MC together-ness you know after ML birthday the reactions are ... And the word cockroaches used to describe the cubs is hilarious MTL is unique in all its aspects.

Edit: And at the end the cubs Knox crashing the bedroom scene is P.S. Poor ML

Spoiler: Random Spoilers till Chapter 42

The Kuhti cub (PeiPei) undergoes flying training with Xie Luan (XL). XL quickly figures out that the cub lacks self confidence because his father has never bonded properly with him nor ever showed any appreciation for his abilities. PP’s mom visits and is amazed and grateful when the cub flies into her arms. She donates a new building to the club (living area) as thanks. It also has an indoor swimming pool.

Later PP and two other bird-type cubs who are orphans (slightly different species - there are 3 types so far) join a flying competition for cubs. PP lags behind at first but gradually catches up until he is in second place. The competition ends with him finishing 1m behind the first place. However, PP ends up champion on overall score because the competition is not just about flying speed but also ability (they have to pass through golden hoops that materialise in the air). The other two make 4th and 6th place and XL is the only person to have 3 cubs all within top 10. PP’s dad sees his son win on tv (or whatever you call the broadcast) and realises he’s been wrong in the upbringing of his child - there is some parent-child bonding. He later anonymously donates 2m to the club.

There is some drama on the internet, with some other club trying to claim credit for PP’s achievements. This is quickly resolved when the parents send a thank you letter to Yunbao branch that is posted online. New joiners to the club, mostly bird-types due to the hype, but also one more turtle type.

XL continues improving the club, planting a tree for the bird-types and making an outdoor swimming area for the mermaid and the turtle. The mermaid hands XL his first scale to drop (they moult like when children change from milk to perm teeth). The rest of the staff are amazed because the first scale is usually given to the mermaid’s parents, which means the mermaid acknowledges XL as his dad (he tries to call him papa). The mermaid gets over his fear of leaving the water and is able to play with the other cubs inside.

Meanwhile the Knox cub has grown into adulthood suddenly. Apparently their type has no fixed childhood period - and the younger they mature the more powerful they are. XL goes fo sleep with the cub one day and wakes up the next day with a handsome silver-haired man in his bed. The cub is clearly very fond of XL, allowing him to touch his tail and even constantly hooking his tail around his waist/wrist in adult/child form. This is noticed by the general who is shocked because the tail for Knox is like the reverse scale for dragons - they only allow their parents and mate to touch them. And parents usually don’t. The fact that the Knox is actively hooking his tail around XL means that he is courting/sees him as his mate-to-be. XL is less comfortable with the adult Knox, and the Knox realises this so purposely turns back into his cub form so he can be sticky with XL.

XL notices black totem marks near Yan Yi’s collarbone....

The mermaid cub develops an ability to control and freeze water, gifting XL with ice crystals shaped in the mermaid word for papa. This is unusual because usually mermaids can only use their abilities through singing and the cub has a speech impediment. Also, apparently, ice powers are also a rare ability.

XL asked Zarad about the black marks on YY. Zarad had first thought they were the Black Plague, but the shape is not consistent. He theorises that it has something to do with the black shell of the Knox egg.

Zarad is upgraded to battle instructor for the club. He is assigned to teach the mermaid, and is happy because his student will have rare, mutated abilities and so he will have some face. Pfft

Meanwhile on the net, some netizens are saying that the golden markings of the mermaid cub looks like the same ones from some influential family (MTL says Hodi). Zarad and XL are pretty sure he was abandoned on purpose so make no move to contact the family. On the other hand, if the family knows the cub has an ice ability it’s likely they will want to claim him back (and the club cannot stop them). Zarad asks if the cub would like to go back, the cub panics and grabs onto XL’s legs not letting go while crying out ‘papa!’

The mermaid can now say ‘papa’ at a normal tone and speed. The Hodi family sends a rep to check on the pup. Unfortunately, the rep realises through his marks that he’s developed a unique ability (markings give a lot of info, to mermaids who know how to read them). So now the rep wants to take the cub away since it means glory for the family. XL refuses to let him take the cub. The cub throws a cone of ice at the rep. Rep offers money in exchange for taking away the cub. XL refuses again, driving away the rep. Family instructs rep to use legal means to force them to give up the cub.

Spoiler: Chapter 43 to ?

A bunch of Zarad’s old buddies come by. They’ve been investigating the mermaid cub’s abandonment and managed to get the family’s servant who was responsible for it, forcing him to promise to testify against the family if needed. They go to court and evidence is presented for the abandonment of the mermaid cub. The judges all vote unanimously in favour of YunBao club to keep custody of the cub.

XL decides to take the mermaid cub to receive the blessing of the sea goddess (there is a ceremony where the spar is inserted into the spring and the water is then used to wet the forehead). There is some festival going on with the mermaids where the children sing to their parents and vice versa. The mermaid cub sings for the first time to XL, and all other mermaids listening can tell how powerful he is.

YY ends up finding the moonstone (token of love for mermaids) and gifts it to XL. Mermaid cub thinks YY must be his other parent since XL has accepted it.

Spoiler: More spoilers till Chapter 56

I kinda lost track of where everything fits, but meh.

Somewhere along the way YY kisses XL but XL thinks it’s because he’s the only one who showed him warmth so YY is fixated on him.

A couple come to adopt the two other bird-type. While they’re there, XL cooks for the club and invites them to join. That world has sucky food because most people just eat nutrition packs, bland and tasteless, so XL’s cooking is considered really delicious. The couple run a restaurant, so they ask if XL would sell his recipes. XL suggests they give him 20% of their profits for the recipes. XL officially adopts the mermaid cub ^_^

The club has passed the criteria for qualifying for the Star Alliance assessment, so in about 2 months someone will come to take a look at the club. XL decides to hire a dietitian, a doctor, a logistics staff and two B-level caregivers. Zarad is now battle instructor and the cook will be provided by the couple who adopted the two bird-types. Xia Qi informs Zarad that he’ll also have to undergo the assessment. Zarad thinks that it will be difficult for Star Alliance to find someone who doesn’t know him since he used to be one of the instructors. Zarad now thinks that life here is pretty good and is thinking of staying even after his one year contract.

The people doing the assessment arrive, are given the customary tour. The main points of the assessment lie on the childcare staff and the battle instructor as these are the main criteria the parents look at when choosing a club. Zarad is dragged into the room by Xia Qi from wherever he was hiding. The assessment team is stunned. “Za, General Zarad-?!”

Spoiler: Chapter 57 to 60

Zarad *coughs* asks if they can give more points hahaha. Assessment team are smart people and know not to offend him, saying “the highest score so far is 137 points, but naturally for you, it can be even higher”. Zarad gets evaluated as S-level XD. The club gets ranked at 2007, and everyone is overwhelmed. The total score was 1115, 700 of which comes from the facilities. Zarad contributed 300 points.

Four new cubs join after the assessment results are announced. Three are Budo(?) cubs and look like little snow leopards. The remaining one is a tree child and very introverted.

Someone comes to ask XL to go back with him to Seine (Muka home planet) to help some Muka eggs which had been damaged in a landslide XL agrees, YY will ofc stickily accompany him. The others are relieved because Zarad said YY is as powerful as he was back in his prime so nothing will happen to XL. Nick (the resident Muka cub) also ends up going with them. It’s the first time Nick has seen adult Muka and he instinctively stands in front of XL to protect him (Awww).

But XL knows they don’t mean any harm so he just patted Nick. He goes to the room where the 8 eggs are, using his spiritual power to help the eggs recover (even though the eggs appeared undamaged due to the tough shell, but the life inside had weakened).

not gonna lie, when i saw the chapter where the knox "grows up" for the first time (y'all know what i mean), i directly stopped mtling and even stopped reading the translated chapters coming out cause i hated the development. hahahah wonder if the author decided to change the cp cause i feel like the general had waaaaaaayyy more presence and build ups from the start and then the knox cub just comes barreling out. Welp, who knows, maybe i'll end up jumping ship and joining the knox crew someday lol (it's still cute cause of all the other babies so i picked it back up again hahaha)

 

I also felt like that. The general cp had a lot of potential ,
but as someone often loyal to the original cp I stayed on the same ship.
I rarely jump on sinking ships. ⛵⛵⛵

 

I started mtling again, and tbh i think i may be comfortable jumping ships. The only thing right now is that the general still holds the ml type of vibe lol more than the knox right now ahahhaah

 

Just finished mtling. Im so satisfied ended up liking that ship hahahah. Do any of you know if it really finishes at chapter 130? honestly feels like that aint the end but who knows lol (spoiled by all them side stories)
