I'm looking for cultivation novels (BL) with a strong MC. Something like The Transmigrated Senior Martial Brother. In most cultivation novels I've read so far, the MC, despite transmigrating in the body of an outstanding prodigy/villain boss, is always saved or at the mercy of the ML from |the very start|. It is understandable that the protagonist will have a cheat item, but making use of it from chapter one to surpass the MC is ridiculous. Even when fighting canon fodder, the MC is either overwhelmed or his qi/spirit energy runs dry in three moves and he drops dead needing the typically younger and currently physically weaker ML to support him in walking. It boggles my mind how the original villain (MC) was supposed to fight the ML, if the novel had followed the original script.

Founder of Diabolism maybe? MC and ML are pretty much equal. he's never pampered, overprotected, intimidated or treated like a child by the ML.
The Emperor's Strategy It is a good one with strong MC and ML. Not a cultivation novel though. MC is the emperor and ML is king of another country or province. Not fully translated yet

Legendary Master's Wife MC might be a weak ass alchemist(mage) at the start but he gets super strong midway. Not on par with ml until almodt end of novel thou. But the thing is that both mc and ml are sorta in diff cultivation pathways (warriors/cultivator) vs (mage/alchemist). But xiao momo is pretty independent and strong himself
