In the original script MC's songs will be copied by the gong's (im not sure) cousin( or sister?) and he was cursed for plagiarism by the entire country. Basically the gong made him chose between their relationship and career. Ofcourse the stupid shou choose the slag gong. His reputation became rotten to the core that his company cut is contract and kick him out with debts and all. The shou became so depressed that his parents took him to a psychiatrist then they quietly move out of the country. Due to shou's parents, they Got married and did a simple wedding. after 2 years shou got better. In their 3rd yr the gong became successful. Shou started to notice gong became busy that he dont have time for him anymore and the clothes he is wearing changes from when he left and coming back. He is just too scared to ask and scared to hear the answer. Oh well in the end the shou committed suicide when he accidentally heard Gong cheated with his girl colleague and will leave him (?). Correct me if im wrong. Let's go back to the present. The MC enters the show. As an actor MC is obviously good in acting. I like how sassy and black bellied MC is, he always talks about poisoning the gong, hitting him with his car and different kinds of torture for the gong. The system will always worry that MC might really do it. He will talk sarcastically with the gong then when the "goodwill" will minus points. He will go back acting white lotus and the points will add again. Spoiler: Just a guess the system is the ML. For being too kind he was reported by his past host and was reset. For some reason he don't know why, he works very dedicated and hard, in order to find someone. Even though he forgot that someone. I guess that someone is MC. When MC is hurt, he will lower the pain and when MC is in discomfort. The system will make MC feel comfortable etc. Isn't the system way too caring to MC. Too suspicious. Oh well. Just a speculation from reading millions of blood dog drama. Hahaha And the Lord God who manages the realm is showing signs of being a Big Boss Villain. So ML's parents will visit. Slag gong kick MC out of the way coz his parents will visit. Mc meet up with his brother and deliberately brought up that slag gong is not treating him right. He is ashamed being known having a relationship with mc and wants mc to avoid his family. He move out to his bro villa with his piano. Mc retune up, something like adding/subtracting flavor these specific original songs from their current world so when plagiarism issues appeared. Slag gong cousin was put in the court and was curse by the world. Slag gong and his mother wants MC to shoulder the blame but MC with his poisonous mouth fought back. When they threaten mc, mc threatened back. When they curse at mc, mc curse back. At the end, slag gong's regret reached 100 and MC transfer to his next timeline. What's interesting is The Lord of the Realm, wants MC to suffer by raising difficulties. Mc is kinda, not emotional. His emotion is like poker face. Oh wow just started reading but it, it’s quite excellent. My spoiler for arc one will start from chapter 3 since the first two chapter have been translated and they’re basically the set up given by @WagKalimutan I can’t say that this 100% what happened since the version I read seemed to have typos and I was confused many times. Spoiler: Arc 1: Genius Cannon Fodder Counterattack ML = System 061/Lou Ying MC = Chi Xiaochi BH = Scum gong/Yang Baihua CY = Original Host/Cheng Yuan Alright so prior to chapter two, MC knocked out BH so that he could sneak out. He drives for almost an hour and wind up at a cemetery. To clarify, because this is the first world, it has many parallel similarities to MC’s original world. ML asks where MC is going, but MC doesn’t really answer. Instead he walks to a grave covered in weeds and dusts it off. MC stays there for a while. ML asks who that person is, and MC replies he doesn’t know. That is to say, fortunately the person who died in his world could possibly be alive in this world, and this other person is a stranger. ML enquires if he wants to find this person. MC says that he doesn’t. It’s enough to hope that this person is living well. BH and MC have breakfast together, chatting a little. BH brings up how his family will be visiting for a week, and MC needs to move out. The original host, CY, and BH have been together for three years at this point and the parents still don’t know. MC subtlely mocks him but then acts all upset, so BH can’t get angry. There’s a flashback scene of CY and BH in the original timeline. CY was truly pitiful. He went to BH, upset over the plagiarism. However, it was BH’ cousin who had stolen CY music. BH’s cousin called him up and cried to him about how she was so sorry and she didn’t really mean it. She begged BH to get CY to cover it up. BH says that cousin is just a child (she’s like 19-20) and she can’t bear the consequences. It could ruin her life. CY was disappointed but still followed BH’s request. It ruined his career and put him into immense because of liquidations he has to pay. His brother helped, but CY fell into a pit of depression. He could no longer write music. His parents intervened and forced BH to come out to his parents and marry CY. It worked for a while, but eventually BH cheated and planned to leave CY, so CY ended up killing himself. Later in the night, MC requests two hypnosis cards from ML. One if for himself, and the other for BH. It’s because MC has insomnia and can’t sleep naturally, and also because he doesn’t want BH touching him, so he knocks him out. Since MC is sleeping, ML leaves and logs into the system headquarters. Turns out that ML is a diligent system. MC is his eight/eleventh host (MTL says both in two locations so idk). His previous host complained about ML so ML was reformatted and can’t remember anything. All he remembers is that he has to work hard in order to get back to someone, and that’s what motivates him. ML found out that MC was an actor. Now he’s curious about MC and wants to download MC’s movies. He gets warned by the admistrating system to not get too attached. Later on, this will be a running theme in the arc. MC and ML watch movies together. At one point MC gets really upset because he finds out Sirius Black dies (he hadn’t seen the later movies yet). It’s actually quite funny yet sobering because he says, “not everyone you like lives,” which is probably referring to ML. The next day, MC finally vists CY’s brother. He plays the innocent card, revealing how BH is mistreating him but still “defending” BH. The brother gets angry. In the end, he agrees to not inform their parents of the situation and rents out an apartment for MC to live in for the week. MC laments CY poor vision. After Big Bro found CY dead, he went to BH’s home and almost knocked the door down while holding a knife. BH called the police and as he was arrested, Big Bro could only cry how his little brother had only been twenty-seven, he hadn’t even reached thirty yet. (I don’t remember when this happens, but at some point Big Bro tells his brother this. There are two men. One earns 10,000 dollars and is willing to spend 1,000 on you. The other earns 1,000 and is willing to spend 999 on you. Which would you choose? MC was silent. Big bro said that he would be he one willing to spend 999.) MC arranges the movers. He’s ecstatic because he never plans to return to BH’s apartment and so he no longer has to worry about BH touching him. BH picks up on MC’s mood. MC replies that he’s just happy bc he hasn’t seen his friend in a while and spins a story about a childhood best friend who moved overseas a few years ago. Some of the details must be taken from MC’s aqquiantance with ML, because MC sounds truly fond and tender about these memories. BH thinks MC must have more than platonic feelings. BH already feels inadequate around MC’s circle, and now his ineferiority complex worsens. He becomes irritable/upset and he can’t stop thinking about it even after MC leaves and Yang parents arrive. Now that BH is out of picture, ML and MC have been mostly alone together. They get a little closer to each other. ML asks if MC knows what his wish will be. Essentially a host only needs to complete ten missions and then they can make a wish. Although most hosts have a wish to return in the beginning, eventually they change their minds and opt for one of the task worlds. ML has never returned anyone home. MC says that he will definitely return home. WIthout him, no one else would sweep that person’s grave. (I’m assuming this is ML). BH’s cousin finally enters the picture. She comes along with BH’s parents to stay at their house. As BH drives, she enters the WeChat and finds the demos MC sent to BH. Planning to steal it, she sends the demos to herself and deletes the evidence. Little does she knows this is MC’s set-up. He deliberately sent these demos to BH. If cousin chose to steal them in this life, then he would retaliate. Otherwise he would have left her alone. Another reason why CY failed was because his record label supported Tang Huan and left him to rot. Therefore MC plans to switch over to a label without conflict-of-interest. Since he’s away from home, MC is taken by surprise when BH goes to visit his apartment. ML offers to be a fake roommate, and MC agrees. BH meets ML in human form, and it makes him feel worse. He’s been jealous of MC’s friend these last few days. Now ML stands in front of him. Supposedly ML resembles BH (maybe it’s conceit on BH’s part) but ML is taller, handsomer and more refined. BH angrily questions ML about MC. ML says he doesn’t know where MC is. He’s not his guardian or his jailer. BH thinks this is a personal attack on himself. So what if he distanced MC from his brother? So what if he didn’t let MC go out or see his friends? What was so wrong about it? In fact, looking at ML, who looks too much like himself... What if MC took BH as a replacement? Hadn’t he said it was love at first sight? BH leaves worse than he came. MC witnesses a playback, but the video is from ML’s perspective so MC didn’t get to see his face. -_- Later, BH finally confronts MC. He doesn’t know that Big Bro is in the car with MC, and mistakes him for ML. He accuses MC of cheating on him and other unreasonable things. MC acts fake hurt. Finally Big Bro can’t take it anymore and comes out of the car to punch BH. MC finally reveals that the apartment was his Big Bros and not his “friend”s. Confused, BH’s like why didn’t you tell me. MC explains that since BH didn’t like it when MC talked to his brother, he was afraid to tell him. BH gains perspective of what “really happened” and becomes apologetic towards MC. Big Bro isn’t having any of it. He takes MC back home with him to stay at their parents’ house. MC’s parents are really happy. It seems their son has finally returned to them and they want to act all sticky. MC accepts them, but actually he’s touch adverse so when he’s finally in a private room he throws up. ML figures out what happened and feels pretty bad. He thinks that as an actor, MC must have had contact with a lot of people. How could he stand it? MC had suffered from a lot of scandals as well. For example, he was accused of being unfilial by his gambling parents and almost ruined. No one had been there for MC. ML almost says that if he had been there... then he drifts off. MC mistakes ML’s meaning and says that with ML’s system cheats, then he could have even fired his agent. Actually, ML wanted to say he could have comforted MC as a friend. Then he remembered that he couldn’t get too attached to hosts. BH has been convinced that MC would come back to him. However, a day went by and then a week and then a month, and MC still has not returned. BH visits Big Bro at his company, asking to see MC. Big Bro says that he’ll only allow MC to see him if BH comes out to his parents. BH is unwilling and leaves. MC is preparing for his plagiarism scandal and makes a preemptive attack. The demos he sent to BH so cousin could still weren’t actually his songs. They were reworked covers of a different artist who had been the idol Tang Huan’s biggest fan. He records himself playing the demos and posts them on Weibo a week before Tang Huan’s album gets released. Tang Huan is an artist who has a pretty face but mid level skill and an unremarkable voice. She’s been able to gain some status by claiming that she writes most of her songs, and her EP is billed as one she’s been working on. Therefore, when the album comes out, it makes a big splash at first. However, people quickly find MC’s cover which he said was for non commercial purposes and start to mock Tang Huan. Tang Huan’s company hears about this and quickly search for MC’s cover. Compared to MC’s, Tang Huan’s version sounds like sh*t. The director immediately becomes angry, knowing they have a problem on their hands and hunt down the person who sold them the songs. BH cousin panics and calls BH, pulling the same bs she did in the other timeline. I’m so sorry, I know that I was wrong, etc, and then begs for BH to tell MC to take the blame, basically. BH believes that MC still loves him so he goes to Big Bro’s company. While he’s there, he runs into MC who drops off food for Big Bro. MC agrees to talk to him, but at this point he’s done with the facade that he loves BH. BH has no idea, so he tries to coax MC. He goes on and on about how Cousin is like his little sister. His parents see her as their daughter. Cousin knows what she did was wrong. She’s sorry. Blah blah blah. MC is fed up and throws it back in his face. So what? Cousin is too young to face consequences? How about MC? He’s supposed to take the hit to his reputation? He’s supposed face legal consequences? He’s supposed to severe his contract with the company and pay liquidation damages? BH tries to defend himself. He says that since MC is rich, he doesn’t need to write songs; it’s just a hobby. MC is like oh? So just because I’m rich I deserve to have people steal from me? Then he leaves. At this point the company is desperate. Tang Huan’s album was supposed to be their big hit, but now they’re a laughing stock. They release as statement and an apology, admitting that they bought the song but they had no idea that it was stolen. They will now seek legal actions. In order to rectify the situation, they pour dirty water on cousin and file a court summons. Cousin gets a call from the police about her summons. She’s stupid and pulls them into the blacklist, thinking that if she doesn’t answer then they can’t make her go. She had this habit since she was young. Whenever she went to other people’s houses and broke things, she would hide them. That would make it as if it never happened right? Lmao ok yan let’s see how that one holds up in court. She calls up BH and explains the situation. She begs BH to convince MC to help her and take the blame. At first BH doesn’t want to, but then Cousin threatens to tell the parents about how BH has been with a man. She angers Bh, but she says she’s been driven to this point because BH won’t help her. BH has only two brain cells to run together, so he thinks MC is still in love with him and calls again. MC just brushes him off. However, Cousin tries calling him too with the same bs she pulled on BH, saying she’s sorry and will never do anything. MC face slaps her. He’s like, you’re not sorry about what you did, you’re just sorry you got caught. Cousin has to go to court. She indeed tattles on BH, so BH’s parents are furious. However, they think that MC has a soft spot for their son, so BH Mom calls MC to a restaurant. She tries to get MC to bring his parents, but MC refuses, saying their too busy. At the restaurant BH Mom threatens MC. He has to fix Cousin’s problem, or else they’ll tell everyone that MC is gay. The country is still conservative, so this could ruin MC’s career and that of his family. MC is amused. He tells them that since he’s rich if his career gets ruined, he can go overseas and study in Cambridge. His parents are also rich, and if their business goes bankrupt here, they can go overseas and start a new one. What about BH family? If this secret gets out then where could they go? MC says if they dare, then he’ll go to BH Mom’s hometown and place banners and flyers declaring how her son is gay. BOOM they’ve been owned. After that, things get worse for Cousin. She gets convicted and has to pay millions of dollars in reparations. She tries to commit suicide because she can’t pay, but he father stops her and slaps her around. BH has become a mess and he even gets scolded by his boss at work. He finally realizes he and MC are over. Remorse rate goes to 100. Mission complete. As MC prepares to leave, he tells ML that he wants to try something. He thinks that the soul of the original host Cheng Yuan is still in his body. ML has a contract for a system, MC has a contract for a raider, so he thinks cy must also have a contract. Maybe he rented his body in exchange for revenge and that’s why MC can still use his music abilities. ML doesn’t know if this is true. He didn’t think about it. Now he’s secretly horrified, thinking of all his previous host partners who chose to kill the body after finishing a mission. Does this mean... those hosts died? ML offers to try. He snatches MC’s soul but leaves the body. A few hours later, CY comes down with a fever. Big Bro and Nanny are worried (nanny in the original timeline died from heartache when CY committed suicide). CY wakes up. When he sees Big Bro, he begins to cry. He shouldn’t have fought Big Bro over BH. He knows he was wrong. The three of them hug Now I’m kind of horrified because I can’t help but think of all the fast wear novels where the host bodies where killed off once the raider left and it’s not really explained how systems work. Spoiler: The Big Villain + ML and MC The big villain is definitely the lord boss. He has a vendetta against MC for some reason. Also, at the end when MC leaves and CY gains his body back, the system gets something called entropy energy from them. MC gives out 300 energy points (average is 1300) and CY gives zero. Lord System is furious. Also, Lord System struck a deal with ML. As a system, ML can get a wish once he completes 200 missions. So far he’s done 102 (which means the eleventh host only reached the second mission before reporting ML the little twat). He lowers the requirement to 120 in exchange for something. I don’t know the second thing, but the first is that ML can’t let MC see him. The other systems seem to know about ML and MC too, but they’re bound by contract not to tell. At one point in the first arc, MC sees ML because Lord System allowed it. However, ML was hidden once more and MC cried when he couldn’t find him. ML worried that MC would want to stay in this world after all, since his friend was here. However, MC says he will return. This person isn’t his ML. He just wanted to see. The reason Lord System allowed MC to glimpse ML was to increase the entropy points. However, as soon as MC said that this wasn’t his ML, the projected entropy points went back down again. Lord System was furious. ML and MC are becoming friends in this arc, they’re not in love yet. However, ML is really fond of how MC can be serious and brilliant but also childish and spoiled. Sorry I’m a bit busy with finals, so I don’t know when I’ll have time to read arc 2 and give spoilers.

This is an alarming thought o.o... but that depends on the novel, some novels explain that the ghosts of the original body goes into rebirth after their resentment has been washed away...but there's alot of novels where they just die and is not explained so in a sense the system's host is technically not responsible imo, how could they know how the system operated...well in this case maybe the 'main system' controls all that.
Spoiler: Original Plot of Arc 3: Love Songs on Ice This is the ice skating arc. The original host was a talented ice skater who has always been ice skating since a young age. He is very introverted and standoffish to others and was bullied for it. He is always blunt with his words and isn't humble about his talent thus his coach thinks of him as arrogant although the host isn't and is just blunt. He has an idol called Yan Xifan, who he met when he was young and once protected him against the bullies- although the bullies continue bullying him after the confrontation. He has posters of YXF and practices ice skating each day to catch up with his idol. Then the host saw that YXF has entered the adult division and made it his next goal. YXF has a dear friend called He Changsheng who he treats very nice but HCS is very lukewarm towards YXF which makes the host feel that HCS is too cold to YXF. But since he is only an onlooker to their relationship he can only watch. Finally, one day during a tournament YXF made a mistake and thus got third place while the host got first (I think he also broke some kinda record earlier). Then during the banquet, the host only hanged out with YXF. It was also during this time when the host got drunk and slept with YXF and becomes YXF's secret lover. The host feels very elated about this, however, his happiness was short as YXF always talked about HCS in front of the host and always compared the two. The host wants YXF to reveal their relationship in front of HCS, yet YXF only promises to do it next time and would never reveal it. This made the host very upset and starts to become insecure as he sees how close the two are. Add onto the fact that YXF always comparing the host to HCS made the host see HCS as competition and having to feel as though he always needed to compete with HCS. This one-sided rivalry finally hit its peak one day when the host overhears YXF talking with HCS about how several of their friends are gay and if HCS has any problem with it and HCS reveals that he didn't think about it but he wouldn't be afraid to try. Then YXF says something to HCS that made the host upset (I can't understand what it was, sorry this whole part was a mess to me ) the host got into a fight with YXF about this and the two reconciled when YXF apologized but the sense of crisis in the host's heart had reached a max at this point. Later during practice, HCS performs some complex quads and YXF praises him saying about how HCS can break the men's record in Asia. With HCS replying that it's completely different to do the same thing during competition. The host then decides to do the same thing during his routine, which the coach warns against but the host still does it. This then led to a disaster as he fell during his second quad and ends up snapping his Achilles tendon. Later during the hospital after YXF visits him the host thinks about YXF's gentleness and thought about how that was once something that he loved about the other man, but now that he looks at it closer it feels fake. YXF is kind and always accommodates the host and never quarrel or bicker with him and did not blame him for anything. Before the host felt that this was a perfect lover but now he feels that such lover-- isn't it too fake? All of these signs just show that YXF doesn't really care and thus he doesn't bicker with the host, and it just shows that YXF isn't invested in this relationship. Afterwards, HCS comes to visit and the host asks about YXF with HCS saying that YXF can't accompany the host forever while the host says can and explains how he and YXF have been lovers this whole time and about how he has been admiring YXF since young. HCS is shocked as YXF never told him about this relationship. The host is also shocked as he though HCS always knew. This made him feel even worse as all this time he was competing against HCS who never even put him into his eyes. During this time HCS finally says that he will distance himself from YXF. Later YXF calls and is angry at the host for telling HCS about their relationship. YXF finally starts ranting and reveals how HCS was bullied when he was a child and thus has a psychological shadow from such, and the only reason why YXF protected the host back then was for HCS's sake and now this is how the host repays him? The host was shocked by this as he finally realizes that this entire time he was used as a prop for this person to look good in front of HCS and when he is grown he is nothing more than a friend with benefits to the other. YXF then complained about how the host has ruined his good friendship with HCS and how he only wanted to be a good brother to the host. But that night when the host got drunk he had to make a choice between his morality or HCS and in the end, he chooses HCS and slept with the host to continue to appear as the kind older brother in front of HCS. (morality or HCS I guess there was no other choice- YXF is indeed scum). And apparently this entire time YXF apparently "can't bear" to break the host's heart and thus has been dropping hints on how he isn't interested in the host (but continues to sleep with him bc I guess he had no other choice???- bro what is this logic) the host asks why YXF never told him that he was not interested in which YXF reply that didn't he take enough responsibility and why the host has to make it hard on him. The host then says how much YXF complimented him and YXF says that it is only complimented why does he take it so seriously and how from start to finish YXF has never said I love you to the host. This crushes the host's heart. The host has spent 12 years pining for YXF ever since he was 11 years old, and now he is 23- more than half his life has been spent on loving YXF. Finally, the host returned to the ice but his torn Achille's tendon and anxiety prevented him from ever achieving his true potential again and he failed all his jumps and became disgraced. He never saw YXF again. The host then died when he walked over thin ice and fell into the cold river. Btw HCS was just a bystander in all of this. He didn't plot against the host or anything and YXF was the only one that was causing trouble. So HCS isn't a bad guy in this arc, in fact, he is actually quite nice and a cute development happens with him later in the arc. This novel really makes me root for the MC to take revenge for the host against all these scums I might post the counterattack after this but it may take a while
