Why is there no option for "straight female"???? By definition yaoi is made for fanservicing straight females. BL is a more tame broad term which has more content and a wide range of fanservice from little to off the charts high. And many read it. But still STRAIGHT FEMALES read that mostly

I'm not trying to say that they're all tomgirls or such (though there definitely are ones as well, though mostly in the form of traps and for men rather than women), but there's definitely a lot of these "bishie"s in BL/yaoi.

And really any bishounen I've seen look quite feminine, kind of like women trying to look like men actually (tomboy).

What really? I think a lot of people in the gay community view BL quite positively actually.
And BL has lots to do with LGBT and IRL.

A lot of BL series tackle the issue of acception and being proud of who you are. A person just happens to like another person. And that person happens to be male. Does that make you gay? It kind of does, but it’s much more than that. It’s just pure affection and love, not some stupid crap that can be labeled and named. It’s really just loving someone no matter the cost.
And in a lot BL stories with storylines on accepting that you’re gay and coming out of the closet. TBH, a lot of BL stories do that, they speak a lot about the mental and social difficulties. As in how things are going to be different and stuff.
I’ve read enough BL to know it rather tackles the issues really well.
The issues that a lot of LGBT groups are tackling and trying to win.

 

Yep! A lot of BL novels have really feminine MCs. I too agree that it’s quite annoying and a bit unrelatable.
I read BL for males to be males.
If I wanted a girly character. I’d read a girl not a boy.

Well, this post CAN only be answered by those people who meet the criteria I guess. And, well, perverts don't think of perverted things all the time, and...well, doesn't matter.
