@Woehwier, idk if you want feedback at all while playing, but the D5 move (called the "4-5 point") that you made at the beginning could be considered extremely bold. It's really rare to see that opening because it's hard to defend the corner with. In this match, "O" went at E3 and C4 to invade and take over the corner, and X was forced to stay on the outside. The more common Joseki's are: 4-4 point joseki: One of the most popular joseki in modern day. It emphasizes a balance between expansion. 3-4 point joseki: Historically one of the most popular joseki. Better than 4-4 at defending the corner, but not as flexible for expansion. 3-3 point joseki: Not really played. Most defensive opening, but very limited in terms of expansion. In general, playing on the 3 line (third line from the edge) is most stable and defense. The 4 line favors expansion, and the 5 line is essentially playing towards the center. As for whether prioritizing the corners, sides, or center is better: Corners are the best to prioritize because they take the fewest number of pieces to secure the most amount of area. They are also easy to defend. Sides are second best to prioritize because they are a bit harder to defend. The center is often fought over last because it's the hardest to defend. However, the most amount of territory is in the middle. There are plenty of places online where you can play go (or any other boardgame!) I don't really consider any of these NUF community games to be serious though -- mostly for fooling around and for people to try out games that they wouldn't ordinarily play. So I don't really mind if people make questionable moves. You can switch teams at any time too. If serious games are what you're interested in, the main function of this thread is to find people to play with (see the poll) -- and those private games can be played on NUF via PM, or elsewhere if either of the players have a better idea where it should happen.
