Which chapter or general chapter area in BTTH did Xiao Yan marry Medusa. If it has yet to happen then I apologize for spoiling, I just dropped the novel at c450ish after finding out they don’t marry till somewhere in the second thousand chapters and will now binge if that part has been translated.

Edit: I realized the spoiler is not as heavy as I thought when I first posted a minute ago because they most likely had a relationship before that, but as I said I dropped around c450:cookie:

Haha, I just read that chapter today! I will tell you now now...

Here we go, it says that it happened in this chapter but it could of also taken place before this chapter (it happened off screen).

"During this period of time, Xiao Yan and Cai Lin had also held a simple Xiao clan wedding conducted by Xiao Li and Xiao Ding."

It's very good, it's just the typical cliches all around though. The story progresses very slow, but as a plus you do get a lot of build-up and a better feeling for many things (very immersive details compared to other xianxia). I read up to 500 or something and stopped because i couldn't handle the pace and cliffs. Definitely a good read if you can have it near finished translating.

Well by other novel standards maybe it's bs, but go compare it to similar popcorn xianxia novels like peerless martial spirit or whatever and the quality is much better and more connected. Is it a 'masterpiece' or a hidden gem? Not really. Still averages at least 4/5 where most xianxia tend to drop to 3/5 if not lower.

Yes, if you're not gay you also rate gay novels a 1 star. If you're not into novels like this just don't read them, don't comment that my opinion on it is 'bs'. Feel free to disagree but this is one of the better novels IF YOU LIKE THE GENRE. I just pointed out the one flaw i felt it had and that was the pacing. Basically i don't expect originality from it, i don't expect him to reflect on the Dao and enlighten himself as he grows throughout the novel.
I expect him to be OP, fuse flames and slap faces without it being too just for doing so.

You sound like someone that's nitpicking and dissecting a Schwarzenegger movie for its arthouse quality or lack of depth when that was never the targeted audience to begin with. Some people just want explosions and a cool guy.

Yes, but there's a difference. Apparently what you refer to is something like ISSTH or Desolate Era that focuses on the Dao and has a meaningful system and insights, deeply tied to philosophy. That's actual 'xianxia' in its pure form. Things like BTTH apparently classify as Xuanhuan because it lacks this focus and depth. Xuanhuan cultivation novel wise, this is a good one. When compared to 'true xianxia' it's mediocre.
(then again this reads much simpler with brain-off mode so they both have their own thing going.)

It is very good with a great fantasy world, it can get a bit much with binge reading (with all the fights and what not). The author just has one flaw in my point of view and that is that he can't write how the MC express himself.

Over and over again you will see things like:

"He touched his nose" (for the tenth time in same chapter).
(Kind of like how in other novels, she bit her lip - to the point you wonder if they still have a lip at all).
^ Now that I think about it, this may just be AST and not this novel.

"Is the the so called"... (everything he comes across).

Complete facepalms for encounters - for example:
"We have gathered everyone onto the cities walls to prepare for the beast hoard"
    - Rumbling, massive swams of beast rush out the forest.
MC - "Is this the beast hoard?"

"Were going through a portal to the Pill Tower City"
MC goes through portal - lands in a large town square and sees a large tower in the middle of the city
MC - "Is this Pill Tower City?"

Other than those personal pet pevs, everything else great.

Typically MC will be described as a genius but then act like a retard. Hide his strength but provoke everyone and their uncle. Random and disjointed skills that tend to be left behind or forgotten soon after, side-chars that disappear forever each arc. It's at least mild in this novel.
