Can we filter the release page in terms of language?

Your post remind me of my group filter list. It's almost two pages long

Been asking for this feature for along time now. I really dont like to read JP novels so i would really like to filter them away. It is possible to get rid of 80% of CN novels by filtering Xianxia and Wuxia. But what tag should i filter to get rid of scared beta males? Extremely violent harem girls? Op MC's that hide for no f'ing reason?

And yeah it seems Tony dont want to have this feature.

Something you can do (aside from what was already mentioned), is to create a new Reading List (name it "Hidden" or something) and check the List Settings to "Hide Release From Main Page".

Then, just add any novels you won't read to your hidden list... Takes a bit of effort, but after a week or so of doing it whenever you see a title you dislike on the main page, there should only be 5 or so titles on the main page at any given time.

 

Have you guys ever tried the series finder? If not you should. Most of the options you guys needed are already there. It filters genre, language, etc..

that is also intentional, fyi. he won't be adding filters to that page. besides, the genre is in plain sight there.

 

There is filter option though on top right side(viewed from pc) there is also the series finder where you could leave the searchbar blank or *.* to list all series and when the filter was applied remove the unwanted.

 

but the series finder 'can' exclude genre.

For some strange reason higher ups don't want this feature.

Yeah, right, as if saying "I won't allow filtering out yaoi because I want people to try different things" would encourage people like me to read yaoi. Not a chance.

Same with language of origin.

 

A genre is a taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad more restricted than a whole language.

Seems like this issue has already been adjudicated by Tony, so there's not much use in arguing about it. That said, different people want different stuff. Maybe someone is learning Japanese and wants to find English releases to compare to the raws. Seems kind of silly to make an arbitrary decision on what is and isn't a relevant criterion for filtering. If there's a field, let people filter over it. It's easy to implement and leaves no room for complaining.

 

The point is that you can't judge books by the language they were written in, so there is no point in filtering by language, it's different from filtering according to genres, as everyone has genres they like or dislike.

I know I'll never read a horror novel, so I filter it out from my feed because the genre says something about the novel that I don't particularly like.

The language though? That says nothing.

 

I agree but there are and will always be people who don't like novels of a certain language. Or want the feature for some other reason.
Point is, people want it so why not give it to them. It's not that difficult I assume.
