So I'm visiting my grandparents in China right now and am going to be going on a tour soon where there will be long bus rides with no WiFi. For that they're lending me their Huawei smartphone for me to use. So I am able to login into NUF because the login button is at the top, but to login to NU, I need to press the three lines button at the top right. However I am unable to press that button to access login tools and I also can't press the search button. I also tried different browsers but none of them worked. Can someone help me? I can still somewhat get by by looking for each novel slowly, but that is kind of inconvenient. Please help and thank you!
can you send the screenshot here? and as far as i remember, if you login to NUF, you are automatically login to NU
Yes! thank you so much. now I just need to keep this nuff page saved just in case I get logged out. but the problem of how I can't press the tool bar or the search button still isn't fixed, I can't access my reading list or search for specific novels. I can't really show you what it looked like before login but I still can't access the three lines tool button or the search button at the top right.
also a new thing I discovered is that I can use the NU home button on the top left as well as the notification and mail button next to the search button. but just can't use search button or three lines button.
another discovery is that novels on my reading list aren't highlighted in my feed. also the all tool related buttons on NU such as go to most recent chapter button doesn't work so I'm just guessing the way NU tool buttons are coded aren't compatible with this phone.
try forcing 'desktop mode' on your browser setting. or try horizontal mode. see if that changes anything. also, i assume you don't have java disabled, yes? also, if you just want to use the search function, you can always edit this https://www.novelupdates.com/?s=HEAVY+ARMOURED&post_type=seriesplans or https://www.novelupdates.com/?s=AWWP&post_type=seriesplans replace the bolded word (including +) if multiple words
Ah thanks, I'm running on desktop mode now and it works! it's just very awkward now but at least it works!
the connection to NU lags a lot in china. even with 50mbps. dont make me even mention discord. vpn helps a lot
glad to hear that. however, i had a suspicion it was due to a non-standard screen resolution, or a non-standard/zoomed UI/font. afterall, you did say you've tried several different browser. or it could be like @Suijin said, it was internet conection related. i had some weird problem with some sites when i use my mobile data too sometimes. it is one of those 99.9% loaded, 0.1% went who-knows-where
it takes 5+ seconds to load from white page most of the times if I dont use a vpn. so any unstable connection to add just makes a mess.
its not firewall you braindead twat. firewall blocks the page simply has no nodes directly in china but in other countries. so it takes a time to jump through hoops.
No reason for name calling. To be fair, firewalls do add a bit of latency as they have to take time to check your traffic against whatever filtering rules the firewall is enforcing. Also, to be fair, the issue is far more likely that NU doesn't have any servers in China, meaning your traffic would need to use more hops to get to an NU server, which would add a lot more latency than a properly configured firewall ever should.
that is THE MAIN AND ONLY ISSUE AS I MENTIONED. firewall just straight up blacklists the name from scratch. so attempt to reach a blocked website results in an immediate "this page is unavailable" scenario. so mentioning the firewall is braindead
