TV Cdramas with family dynamic in ancient china

I'm looking for Cdramas or Cmovies portraying ancient china families like in the novel Chu wang fei, Mei Gongqing, Doomed to be Cannon Fodder etc. (of course without the reincarnation stuff)

The only one I remember being like that is the movie Raise the red lantern (1991).

 

I havent read the novels that you mentioned but I recommend using mydramalist

I know that Legend of Concubine's Daughter Minglan has just started filming a drama version with Zhao Liying as the lead. That seems to fit your lists. Others all have elements of court intrigue or transmigration or harem infighting or politics mixed in...hm...

Np. Technically Minglan is transmigration too, but it’s pretty likely they’ll take it out of the drama like they’ve done with other adaptations.

If you don’t mind something a little more modern, there’s also Story of a Noble Family which is set in the Republican era. It stars Chen Kun.
