Yes. she failed and died from Old age but she also became crucial part of the prominent auction House she was adopted by the auction master forgot the name along side with the wife of Kallan. maybe because of her husband death was on his mind or how she did treat linley or because of the auction matter she can't focus on training or she lacks talent no one knows

 

Delia = random female heroine
Alice = the girl which dump the Mc and they have a somewhat understandable relationship, even the reason why and how she dumped him are logical when you remember
1. She is about 16years old
2. In this world the strongest reign (Linley was strong but solo
3. She saw him once or twice in a month, not the best way to have a relationship, especially when your young
4. Linley just saved her main reason why the get together
5. The other guy she knew her whole life (even if he was a dick(for the reader), he still cares a lot about her and didn't dump her when things got messy so my respect on that)

Conclusion not really weird that she dumped him or how she dumped him (I would have probably done the same if I where in her situation )

 

Actually main reason she left linley it's because she thought linley is not rich, no political power, and also because that other guy help her family with financial aid... typical reason for "woman" to leave a man...

 

You forgot that kalan promise to pay every debt of her father had for gambling. The only reason she chose kalan over linley

delia is not really a random heroine she is the sister of his rival in the academy in terms of being a genius and it is shown that she has feeling for him even the other 3 and bebe knows of it. The only problem is status. Delia has highier status and lives in a different kingdom at that time. Remeber the first kissed though delia forces one on linley to somehow show her feelings because well he is a little dense at that time and is greiving on his father's death

 

And that yeah money is important (but can't blame her to set money first priority, especially when you're family gonna be broke, not like reason like this don't exist today )

It more about her in person if you remember the story you will remember Alice first and Delia (I needed some time ) especially when you remember IET isn't really good in romance (looking at the oldest virgin in the history of xianxia Mcs Qin yu )

Alice is more in the bright side for me more than Delia. I dunno why but I remember her much more.

The only reason many people hate her is probably because she cross the line by not informing our hero linley of their status and made him look like an idiot waiting for her for about 3 months.

 

Truth to be told, I like Alice... Delia once said the reason she didn't remarried is because she felt guilty for Linley..
