Question Cultivation Chat Group on quidian?

so I finished reading CCG until the latest chapter that's on NU, and later googling I came to see that Qidian is continuing the translations, but those updates do not appear on NU, did something happen? is it stolen translations or anything else? the series was quite good but I don't think I would read it on there anyway

I never heard of a novel poaching for CCG, perhaps a transfer of the novel, you can see who's translating in on Qidian so perhaps see whether it's the same as the one who was doing it on Volare.
Otherwise, I would expect it to be poached or for there to be an announcement soon.

 

The current active translator is one of the smaller ones who does it as a hobby, not really making money off it. Qidian just hires a translator to do it and ends up being able to put out chapters faster to push out the other translator, they've done that for a few novels and only the translators who make a decent amount off translating can afford to keep up with their rate

 

The translator from volare dropped it and it got picked up by someone else then it went to qidian

 

theres a lot of drama with this one. quidian and gt teamed up to f up the most recent trannslator with a bulllllllllshit contract. lots of sadness

 

guys i'm pretty sure op's question was about why the updates don't show up on NU

 

They cant steal what was rightfully theirs in the first place....

Tho the way they took it back is pretty bad

I just checked chapter 142 on the real tl and on webnovel and they're pretty much the same, so yeah they can't stole the novel but here they stole the translation and it's not really theirs

Of course they're similar. They're translating the same novel. The similarities need to be fairly substantial (same odd word use, same sentence structures, etc.) to accuse them of plagiarism. Although, translators for Qidian have been caught plagiarizing in the past, so it's not out of the question.

In response to OP, NU has a policy that 50 or so chapters need to be translated before they will list a second active translator for a novel. Qidian's yet to reach that threshold, so they're not listed.

 

Qidian owns the raw...the translation seems to be theirs also...the translator that picked from volarenovels seems to be at hiatus because of fear from the TRex lawyers of Qidian...

Also, NU needs at least 50 chapters...

 

I'm pretty sure they made an announcement of translating the novel on their site. I saw it a while back. I don't read it but saw it on their announcement page. A few novels from Volare shifted to Qidian, maybe this is another one.
Volare is not known to just drop a novel with no explanation.


Edit: yep, I was right it was part of the "vote for your next novel" thing they did and it received quite alot of vote so they released it.

Yea, thought OP was asking about who was translating until I looked at the updates.

Qidian taking series is nothing new, wonder why they don't have updates rolling for this too. Not like their other novels are getting neglected.
