    So I just saw a video on the Youtube channel for Netflix.


    So an English adaptation of one of the greatest Anime that was ever made.... I'm not really sure what to think here.
    I am pumped to see western media take more of an interest in anime... but i am skeptical of how well they will be able to do justice to the original.

    Based on that one scene on the Ferris Wheel I think that this show is going to have a pretty high production quality but even with that I am still worried.
    I will watch it when it releases but at the first sign at it butchering or changing (in a big way) the original I will have to stop watching to preserve my image of the original.

    What do you guys think of the Teaser. Have high hope for this or are you just as worried for it as I am?

    Can't have any expectations, since I have seen a bit of Attack on Titan movie -_-

    It is a Netflix series, so you can probably expect some things of higher quality.
    It seems like Netflix focus generally on quality. Unlike Warner Bros and other companies that focus on wanting Money producing shows.

    Hollywood still hasn't learned. First, Dragon Ball Evolution then Avatar: The Last Airbender. Not that hopeful.

    I'm always afraid when any sort of novel is turned into a movie, but it seems like they're taking the original premise and putting a different twist on it. So long as we don't expect it to be like the manga/anime, it might be okay...?

    I mean, you saw the vigilante-hacker-esque outfit he had going on there. And that chick, I seriously doubt she'll be easily used like Misa (?) was.

    Well, fanboy's will hate it no matter how good it is...., but other ppl can probably enjoy it.

    no sneak preview of ryuk?
    wanted to see if it was better or atleast same quality with jap live action.

    Very, very fucking good. Go netflix.

    I have seen the Japanese version, it just sucks. But in Netflix I trust, so for me it is a clear "YES!".

    I think that this will be loosely based on the anime/manga and that it will not follow the story of light or any characters we have seen but will feature the book and some shinigami of sorts other than that I do not believe anything else will be used, perhaps there will be mentions to the previous user Kira but that's it.
