Rules:

1. Follow all site and subforum rules.
2. Be respectful of your fellow living beings.
3. Take the game and game rules seriously. Do not gamethrow, do not self-vote, do not angleshoot.
4. Anything other than the play of you and your fellow players and analysis thereof does not belong in the thread. This includes but is not limited to role PMs, questions for the host, discussion of or requests for replacement/modkills, or anything else that originated outside of the thread that you have not received explicit permission to share in the thread. You may paraphrase your role PMs in the thread (and say the role name and flavour word-for-word), but the game is not solvable or breakable via claims.
5. Any part of the game does not belong outside the game.
6. You must make at least 5 content posts per 24 hours and at least 15 content posts per Day phase. Content is subjective, but should you fall short you will receive one extra chance unless you appear to have vanished entirely. I am very understanding about IRL circumstances, but if they come up, please communicate with me. The more communication, the less chance of forced replacement or modkill.

TL;DR - Preserve game sanctity or I'll preserve you in a vat of acid.

Game-Specific Info:

1. I will do what I can to not lie to you. To the best of my knowledge, this is not a bastard game, but it does contain unusual elements and some roles may present with false information.
2. Every player has a role; there are no vanillas.
3. This game has potential to be a bit swingy. Balance is not entirely guaranteed.
4. Flavour is not alignment indicative. Modgaming and flavourgaming will do nothing other than make Osie chuckle, as usual.
5. If a player receives a number of votes equal to >50% of living players before the end of the Day phase, they will be hugged (eliminated) by Majority. If a player with a number of votes equal to ≥33% of living players has the most votes at the end of the Day phase, they will be hugged by plurality. If multiple players meet these conditions, then the player to meet them first is hugged. If no player meets these conditions, no hug occurs.
6. Hug Deadlines will be 48 hours.
7. Players with chats may chat at any time. The Night phase will be 24 hours long. Players with chats are expected to post in their chats during the Night phase as if they were posting in the thread during the Day phase. (5 posts per 24 hours.)
8. Actions will be due in the first 20 hours of the Night phase. Actions submitted after that time will only be counted at host discretion.
9. At the end of each Day phase and each Night phase, there may be a processing phase (Twilight/Dawn respectively) of up to 12 hours. Voting is locked during Twilight but players may still communicate in the thread until the host declares the Night to have started. Players may not talk in the thread during the Dawn phase.
10. Roles may exist which may present false information to other roles/players. Acceptable roles include but are not limited to variations on Millers, Godfathers, Framers, Janitors, Governers, Tailors, Lawyers, Ninjas, and Strongmen.
11. Roles may exist which change a player's target. A player will always learn if their target has been changed, but will not learn of their new target's identity unless they would learn information about their target.
12. Roles may exist which makes claiming unfavorable.
13. My standard Town win condition is:
    
    You win when no threats to Town remain, if a Town player is still alive.​
14. My standard mafia win condition is:
    
    You win when no threats to Mafia remain or nothing can prevent that from happening.​
15. Any neutrals will have their own win condition(s).
16. The Mafia win condition will usually trump the Town win condition in cases where they would both apply.
17. Players have Last Wills.

What is modgaming again, and is it equal to setupgaming?

Little bit of a useless tantrum here, but why is it called Twilight and not Dusk?

 

Question #1: Are votes locked at XYLO?

Question #2: How will the first position of a tie be determined?

Yes. The point is that setupgaming is often specifically about guessing what the host would/wouldn't do.

Uhh wat? If that's ratios, that's pretty far off. 22-33% of players should be anti-town generally.

For live mafia, where I've had to think about it on the fly quite often, I usually split as follows:

• 3-5: 1
• 6-9: 2
• 9-13: 3
• 13-17: 4
• and so on.

Obviously setups don't have to follow this strictly. You can potentially bend the rules, particularly with multiball. Though obviously you have a strict upper limit of 50%.

Alright. This ought to be fine then:
11 players; 9v2 or 8v3, but never 7v4 since the setup would be scumsided otherwise. Most likely not 10v1 either, even though that is the meme most players would think about, since it would be townsided otherwise. 9v2 requires 7 dead town, which is achievable in 3.5 cycles, whereas 8v3 requires 5 dead town, which is achievable in 2.5 cycles. I don't know what you think of NUF, but I hold I still have low expectations of its players, so... I believe the setup is 8v3.

I wouldn't make assumptions about how ridiculous this setup is.

 

Whatever you cooked for us; it can't be worse than whatever we (or more specifically, us old-timers) have went through.

 

What about the neutrals? There should be at least one of them

What would happen if:

• B chages vote to C

That tie will be made at the same time, so who will be lynched?

That's actually a good question. Fulfilling both wincon should be impossible, unless there is some gamestate where "no threats to both factions exist" AND "at least one town is alive", but I can't seem to image it at all. Is it done by reaching 1v1 parity or something?
