i laughed when Beatrice (Tris) died ok? She literally pissed me off so much with her insane gene base-immunity plot armor. Simulation serum? Tris: I can beat this Mind control serum? Tris: I can beat this Death serum? Tris: I can be- *beats death serum but accidentally triggers a bomb and dies via explosive impact* Me: HAH! GOT EM!! HA!! Like wtf kind of genes did she have? Immune to poison, suggestion, and whatnot? Bitch was getting cockier than Nathan and his Mission Impossibles. Dude could wait till the bomb hit 0.0001 seconds before disarming it and I'd yawn cuz pfft we know that ish ain't gonna explode why tf would I feel suspense? Edge of my seat? More like edge of my vision as I roll my eyes up into my head and say hello to my shrivelling brain uvu)- Excessive plot armors kill the thriller vibes mayn. That's all.
I only saw the first movie, but it was boring and stupid, and that frumpy girl was a terrible actor so I didn't read the books or watch anymore of the movies
Oh I just found it funny how the actress's brother in that movie was her love interest in that different movie "fault in your stars" I was like smee you incestuous binks wheee double castink double winnink
Yeah... Hunger games was lucky they got Lawrence to play that character, otherwise it would sunk like the titanic...
watched the movie and thought it was shit. My sister told me the novel was better, so I read it. It was also shit.
I didn't mind it at first but then I was like Tris why you gotta be such a special snowflake ? Like nobody is that fearless and brave? Not flinching from having knives thrown at you? Smh ( ˊ_>ˋ) a REAL human flinches if you flick a booger at it. Not even trying to be a realistic protag
I was running out of other stuff to read, and I try so hard to be relatable (mediocre to barely adequate effort) so I read the mainstream super popular series everyone was gushing about (v ˊ_>ˋ)v did not feel.
Yeah the quality was way off, and not just cuz my dad pirated the film X') but I liked the first books enough. Kinda.
Both the Divergent series and Hunger Games suffered from their Mary Sue characters but Hunger Games wasn't as forceful as presenting the protagonist as super special. Divergent basically says word for word about how she's the only one to be more than one-dimensional.
This is the kind of stuff that should never have gone beyond the paperback in the teen fiction section. Bet it made money though.
Haha tbh when I read when Tris died I thought she was still alive and was expecting for her to show up somewhere near the end (Because plot armor you know?) but than it showed four grieving/or found out she died?? (Hadn't read the book in a long time) and I was like wait really she died? and I couldn't help but stare at the book than laugh my ass off the second after.
