    Description
Qian Wei’s last regret in her life was at the age of 19, when she offended Lu Xun, known as the “Light of the Law School”. She helped her brother Qian Chuan to pry at Lu Xun’s corner and robbed Mo Zixin from him. Who knew that Lu Xun would become her boss one day, and Qian Wei could only work like a cow or horse for atonement. But now God gave her the opportunity to return to the age of 19. Qian Wei said that she will help Lu Xun and ensure that he and Mo Zixin will be together. But … Why did she seem to offend Lu Xun more thoroughly? Help! She just wanted to help the future boss fall in love, not to fall in love with the future boss!

Qian Wei complained a lot about her boss: “Doesn’t Lu Xun have a private life? He works overtime all day, is he not afraid of developing kidney deficiency?”

Until one day, her boss called her to the office:

Lu Xun: Today, don’t work overtime. Come to my house.

    Qian Wei: ???

Lu Xun smiled indifferently: A good boss should not let employees always have doubts. Tonight, I will show you personally that I don’t have kidney deficiency.

Hopefully, the format of the spoilers work. Didn’t know how detailed you guys wanted the spoilers to be. I think I’ll continue with this format of the spoilers. For those who haven’t read them yet, detailed spoilers for every 2-4 chapters (will obviously be more detailed with the interactions between the MC and ML).

    Chapters 14-15
    Chapters 14-15

MC tries to leave with her brother, but her brother fails to get the hint. ML decides to leave, so ML and MC leave the brother and the 2FL alone. MC tells the ML he doesn’t have to walk her back to the dorm, but the ML tells her he needs to go in that direction anyway as he has something to do. While walking back, MC laments how the ML has not taken up any of the opportunities to get closer to 2FL. As they speak, ML turns the conversation to her and learns that she prefers the cold, loyal, rough, warm, overbearing types (I believe she is telling him she has no preference). ML asks her which type her crush is (remember how she lied to the brother saying she crushed on someone, so she didn’t want to attend the singing competition?). MC tells him she isn’t in love with anyone and that she had lied, which makes the ML relieved. Then ML asks with a sneer how MC knew her brother would fall in love with 2FL, and why she was so bent up on the delusion that he ‘loved’ 2FL.

MC reminds him that she is able to predict many things, such as the exam questions on the makeup legal history exam. ML mentions that he can also predict the future (he uses a city weather issue notice to make the prediction). He predicts that it will rain, and sure enough, it rains. Both of them take cover in a café. There, MC plays around with cats and tells the ML to stay away as she knows he has a cat allergy. ML asks her how she knows this, and she tells him again that she knows many things. ML tells her he’s known of his cat allergy and pulls out a box of medication from his pocket (ML always keeps the medication in his pocket as he doesn’t know when he’ll need it). While drinking coffee, ML realizes MC’s white shirt is soaked. He sees her lace black bra and immediately diverts his attention elsewhere. Eventually, he decides to buy her an ugly, oversized black coat, but he never tells her why. MC’s friend later tells her that her bra is visible.

The following morning, ML asks her if MC is still willing to reserve a seat in the library for him. MC is happy about this and reserves a small table, fit for two students, in a secluded corner in the library. But, along with reserving a seat for the ML, MC also reserves a seat for 2FL so the two could become closer. Later, she advises her brother to forget about the 2FL, and the brother becomes angry at this. The brother believes he compares to the ML in every way, thus, he should have a chance with the 2FL. Afterwards, MC and friend discuss the 2 day, 1 night trip organized by the Student Union (1 day at the amusement park, and 1 day in the forest).

    Chapters 16-20
    Chapters 16-20

The brother bought milk tea and egg tarts for the 2FL. MC messed up her brother’s plans by stuffing the food in her mouth and the ML sees this. On the bus, brother and the 2FL sit together while the MC sits with the ML—she does this hoping she could create opportunities for the ML and 2FL to talk. MC gives the ML another pep talk about how it is not too late for him to pursue the 2FL, but she doesn’t know ML was ignoring her and listening to his music instead. After arriving at the theme park, the gang (MC, ML, brother, friend, and 2FL) decide to go to a 4D movie at the 2FL’s request. Though, before going to the movie, MC vomits on the ML. To repay for his spoiled shirt, she promises to buy him a new shirt while the brother and 2FL go to the 4D movie. ML and MC go to different stores in the theme park. ML eventually wears a cartoonish hero (I believe this is what it was, MTL was kind of hard to understand here) shirt while the MC was tricked into buying a cartoon villain shirt. They then walk out of the store in couples’ t-shirts.

Since the 4D movie was over, ML and MC reunited with the rest of the group. The brother sees MC’s villain shirt and asks why she is wearing it. MC quickly lies and says she had some vomit on her shirt too (so the 2FL doesn’t misunderstand). The gang then heads off to the haunted house. After entering the house and being spooked a few times, MC immediately clutches onto her brother’s waist knowing her brother would take this opportunity to latch onto the 2FL. While she holds him, she feels up her brother’s muscles (brother and MC are twins and are very close, so this behavior is actually normal). She then tells the brother, “If a man’s waist is strong, it’ll break the woman. If a woman’s waist is strong, it’ll break the man. And if both waists are strong, it’ll break the bed.” After saying those words, MC feels up her brother’s muscles and bottom and appreciates him for staying in shape. Brother stays silent during all of this. After MC is scared for the umpteenth time, her brother holds her hand and MC is happy her brother still loved her. After encountering a few more ghosts, her brother covers her eyes as they finish the haunted house. MC is blown away by his caring gestures and realizes that her brother can actually become a decent love rival to the ML without her help.

She mumbles to her brother how she doesn’t understand how many girls are obsessed with ML’s face. ML’s skin is so white and cold, it seemed as though he had a kidney deficiency. At that moment, they left the haunted house, and MC realizes she had been with the ML this whole time instead of her brother. MC immediately apologizes for her words and immediately starts to stutter how ML could never compare to her dimwitted brother. After leaving, ML and MC decide to get pizza as ML is hungry. While waiting in line, a couple makes troubles by cutting the line. MC is insulted by the couple, and ML uses his law knowledge to fight back and save the day. MC thanks the ML and hopes she can stay by his side. Then, she worries about her brother and the 2FL who are still in the haunted house. She wonders if the brother has already made his moves, and ML reassures her that some couples never get together regardless of how long they spend time with each other. He then asks her if they had a chance at being together (as they spent the day together). MC mentions they have no chance at being together because ML is like a swan while she is like a toad. ML denies this claim and tells her that her skin is too smooth. So, instead of a toad, she is much more like a frog.

    Chapters 21-23
    Chapters 21-23

After finishing pizza, MC and ML go on a rollercoaster as MC believes her brother would be there. MC has never ridden a rollercoaster before in either lifetimes. MC and ML talk relationships again, and ML tells her he would never allow his crush to have the opportunity to interact with other love rivals nor is he interested in becoming a third wheel. After finishing the ride, MC realizes everyone is staring at them. ML tells her they are doing that because MC cursed him and everything while on the ride—which the MC denies. After walking out, they see their pictures (MC believes she looks ugly while the ML looks perfect), and when the video of their ride plays, MC hears herself cursing the ML. MC wants to forget this experience, but ML buys both the picture and video. Later, MC suggests they go on a carousel. ML rejects the idea as there are no single men, only couples.

While they walk, they meet up with a small boy who is lost in the amusement park. ML is kind and caring. He offers to take care of the boy while they search for the mom. The little boy requests they go on the carousel so they can check the park faster for the mom. ML agrees to this. Before they go on the carousel, ML buys the little boy and the MC lollipops. He lies to the MC and tells her the lollipops had a Buy 1 Get 1 Free offer. The MC and the little boy banter while on the carousel. The little boy tells the MC he doesn’t think she is beautiful because she looked nothing like the little girl he crushed on in school. ML tells the little boy he shouldn’t compare all girls to his crush and that it is rude to tell a girl they are not pretty. So, the little boy ameliorates his words and calls the MC pretty. After the little boy reunites with the mom, MC praises ML with how he handled the child. ML tells her his goal was to get married, have children, and share 3 meals with his family before the age of 30. MC reminisces how ML was unable to achieve this goal in the original timeline.

MC and ML reunite with the brother and friend. Apparently, the friend clutched onto the brother during the haunted house, causing the 2FL to become lost. MC was really satisfied with this outcome. The friend and the brother argue, and in the middle of their argument, the 2FL reappears. 2FL gives the brother and everyone else souvenirs, while the ML receives a special gift. MC taunts her brother. The gang then retires in their dormitories. Friend and MC share a room while the brother and ML share a room. The entire law class (who attended the trip) along with the brother (who is part of the sports’ department) play a game of truth or dare at a barbecue. There, MC learns that ML was passionate about becoming a judge. This confuses MC as ML is a lawyer in the original timeline. 2FL then reveals the characteristics she desires in a future partner. The brother becomes disappointed as he doesn’t fit most of the criteria. The brother then decides to change his major to law so he can have more things in common with the 2FL. MC’s friend taunts him saying he is too stupid to be in law.

MC reveals how she wants to be a lawyer in front of the crowd. When ML asks why, MC responds she is interested in becoming a lawyer as that will make her rich. ML believes her thinking is vulgar. MC refutes saying she believes the ML is more suited to be a lawyer than a judge. After playing some more, MC retires for the night as there are a lot of mosquitos. She learns that her brother and the 2FL are missing, so she immediately rushes to her brother’s room. When she enters, she sees a tall figure sleeping under their quilt. MC is relieved her brother is sleeping instead of fraternizing with the 2FL. To tease him a bit, MC decides to wake her brother up as she rides him like a horse. The blanket is pulled off, and she realizes she rode on the ML who seemed as though he was thoroughly ravished. ML admonishes her for her deliberate actions while MC defends that the quilt was her family’s and she believed her brother was sleeping on the bed. ML rushes off to take care of his boner. The brother came back from his shower and tells the MC that the ML’s package was large.

    Chapters 24-27
    Chapters 24-27

MC meets ML again a few moments later while the brother, 2FL, ML, and MC play cards. After the brother and 2FL leave, MC tells the ML that she wasn’t being intentionally sultry with him. ML tells her that if it wasn’t her fault, should it be his fault? MC wonders if the ML was bisexual—as ML was sleeping on the brother’s bed. ML explains that the brother accidentally spilled coke on his bed, forcing him to sleep on the brother’s bed and use the brother’s quilt. They decide to forget about this event.

In the middle of the night, MC’s itchiness from the mosquitos worsens. She goes to her brother’s room hoping he could bring her to a hospital, but instead, ML goes with her. MC asks the ML if he liked her as he took her to the hospitals, but ML denies this claim. The doctor sees MC and tells her she’s just had a normal allergic reaction. The doctor jokes that the ML must like her, but before she could explain, the next patient was attended to. After coming back, MC promises ML that she will fulfill any of his desires. ML asks if she can prevent 2FL from coming to the library. Apparently, ML only came to the library to sleep, and having the 2FL watching him was too distracting.

The next morning, the brother tells the MC and the ML of the dream he’d had. Brother imagined that MC and the ML went off together in the middle of the night. Though, when he woke up, ML really wasn’t in the room, causing the brother to believe his dream was true. MC denies this claim, hoping the 2FL doesn’t misunderstand. The entire law department, plus brother, go rafting. The boats are damaged, so everyone falls into the water. The brother ends up saving the friend as he is closet to her. ML, meanwhile, saves the MC despite 2FL being closer to him. ML then rushes off to save other people while the 2FL is saved by another classmate. MC appreciates ML’s help and even appreciates the ML’s sexiness; however, she is sad ML was unable to obtain brownie points from the 2FL. When another classmate needed CPR, MC offers help. But ML pushes her away and helps the classmate instead. He tells MC that it is not appropriate for her to give CPR to a man.

ML then asks the MC if she is feeling alright. MC wishes he would turn his concern to the 2FL, but the ML tells her the 2FL is already being attended to. MC asks why ML saved her despite being closer to the 2FL at the time. ML tells her there were many people near the 2FL who could save her while the MC had no one, so as a result, ML rushed to her knowing she was in the most danger. ML also reminds the MC that he doesn’t like anyone, to which MC believes is a lie. During dinner, 2FL asks if MC and ML are a couple. MC denies strongly and even tells 2FL that ML prefers soft, quiet types. 2FL seems happier at this and offers to be friends. As a friend, 2FL immediately sets MC up with her cousin, telling her that college love is the purest form of love. MC agrees to the blind date as she believes it will make the 2FL less doubtful.

    Chapters 28-31
    Chapters 28-31

The 2 Day 1 Night trip has officially ended. Everyone sits in the same seats on the bus, so ML and MC sit near each other. ML seemed to be in a bad mood, and while staring out of the window, MC peeked at the message on his phone. ML’s mobile hard disk broke, so MC believes his mood is bad because of this. After returning, MC and brother go to a software store to buy ML a new hard disk. MC pays for a top of the line hard disk. The brother and the store clerk ask who she is buying the gift for, and the MC mentions she is buying it for a friend, not a boyfriend. The store clerk offers to upload a few movies on the hard disk. Since it is 2009 and data is expensive, MC takes up on the offer. Afterwards, MC and brother head over to a restaurant where they meet the 2ML. 2ML works as a waiter, and his job is at risk because debt collectors often disrupt the restaurant—demanding the 2ML to pay off his father’s gambling debts. The restaurant owner fires the 2ML due to the constant disruptions. MC takes this chance to offer 2ML a tutoring job. 2ML will now tutor the brother in English (in the original timeline, the brother goes to America for work) and her with law. Now that the 2ML does not have to travel far for work, MC feels that his life is getting on track and that he won’t get cancer in the future.

Her brother asks MC who she is pursuing: ML or 2ML. The brother prefers 2ML as he is a softer person. Though, the brother thinks ML is also acceptable as ML will ensure she is sexually satisfied in the future (brother had a glimpse of ML’s boner during the 2 Day, 1 Night trip). When she comes back to campus, MC gives ML the hard disk and thanks him again for saving her during the rafting trip. MC leaves before she sees ML’s reaction. When she returns to her room, MC finds out that ML approached the friend to join the friend’s debate competition. MC agrees to also participate in the competition. Before she went to bed, ML comes to her dorm hall angrily. MC goes down to the common area and realizes how angry the ML was. The store clerk had uploaded pornographic films and ML was insulted by this. MC quickly apologizes, but ML takes the time to taunt her. 2FL comes in, saving MC from further embarrassment, and asks if she is excited to meet the blind date. ML learns that she has a blind date and becomes disgruntled. Wanting to escape the situation, MC grabs the 2FL and drags her away.

MC gives 2FL some advice on how to dress (she describes the original timeline ML’s fashion preferences) as they head to the restaurant. Cousin shortly arrives and the 2FL gracefully exits the scene. MC allows the cousin to order lunch and becomes dissatisfied when he only ordered vegetarian meals. MC quickly tells the cousin they will never work out as she loves meat. She quickly realizes that the cousin loves someone else, and the cousin confesses he’s in love with a woman seven years older than him. MC decides to help him out as she is technically a 27-year-old woman in the body of a 19-year-old student. MC gives the cousin advice and encourages him to pursue his feelings. Cousin feels relieved he has a chance. He eventually asks the MC if she is willing to be in a fake relationship with him. The cousin is currently being stalked by one of his classmates and hopes the fake relationship could deter the stalker. MC agrees because she believes the fake relationship would make the 2FL feel more confident.

    Chapters 32-35
    Chapters 32-35

MC participates in the debate competition. As she was a practicing lawyer in the original timeline, MC confidently beats through the competition. In the final round, she and the ML compete. MC realizes that 19 and 28-year-old ML are proficient debaters, and he is able to beat her nine times (most of Chapter 32 deals with how the ML and MC answered the debate question, so it is a law heavy chapter). For the last scenario (this is supposed to be a light-hearted debate scenario and is no way legal heavy), MC is instructed to convince the ML to accept her “love” while the ML is instructed to ignore the MC’s “love.” MC begins her argument by telling him that she would never ask the ML to choose between her or his mother as there are legal complications surrounding his choice. As a daughter-in-law, she would do whatever she could to take care of her mother-in-law so the ML doesn’t have to make the choice. ML seems disappointed that she answered the question in this manner, but nonetheless, he accepts her “love,” allowing the MC to win the round. ML continues to explain that the girls in the law school are very good, so he had no reason to refuse their advances. The crowd roars in response and MC is blown away by the ML’s words. MC wonders why the ML is so useless when it comes to the 2FL. 2FL, meanwhile, blushes in the crowd.

After the end of the competition, MC reunites with her brother, 2FL, and the cousin. ML walks up to the them with a look of displeasure. While the 2FL and ML talk, the cousin hands a bouquet of flowers to the MC. The cousin tells MC that she is smart and beautiful, and he even updates that he is making progress with his older crush. The ML (I think, if not him, then the brother) asks who the cousin is. The crowd eventually finds out that the cousin in the MC’s boyfriend. The friend teases her by telling everyone how frequent their calls and dates have been. The brother is nauseous with the thought of his sister dating. He invites the crowd to come and watch a basketball game as he is playing. The enter crowd, with the exception of ML (he mentions he needs to study (though the MC remembers the ML never needed to study before), decide to attend the game.

During the middle of the basketball game, a group of students from a different school terrorized the brother’s team and argued that the court was theirs. The brother’s team plays against the group of students for the court. Initially, the brother’s team is winning, but after a few of the brother’s teammates become injured, his team begins to lose. In order to reverse the situation, MC pats the cousin and asks if he is willing to play the game and help her brother. The cousin laments that he plays football and not basketball. As MC worries for her brother, ML swoops in. He drops his jacket and hat in the seat between the MC and 2FL, and then he joins the game. The game becomes much more emotionally and physically charged. MC even shouts and encourages ML from the stands. The brother wins the game after the ML makes a long distance shot in the last 10 seconds. The brother is pumped with the victory, while the ML comes back to MC for the coat and hat though he realizes 2FL has his belongings. ML admonishes MC for not taking care of his belongings and orders MC to get him a bottle of water. While getting the water, MC is almost hit by a basketball, but ML swoops in and saves her. MC stares at the ML while her heart pounds fast.

The last words of Chapter 35 were “You can’t look at someone who is too beautiful because you will lose yourself.”

    Chapters 36-38
    Chapters 36-38

ML becomes angry at the player (who was from another school) who throws the basketball at the MC. The brother joins in and tells the player he should be ashamed for bullying a girl. MC pleads the ML to end the dispute, but before leaving, ML throws the basketball at the player who attempted to harm MC. The player was struck in the head and seemed to be in pain. Before leaving court, ML admonishes the cousin for not protecting his “girlfriend.” The cousin mentions he was going to protect the MC, but the ML was just faster. The following day, the ML asks the MC if she is still willing to help him chase the 2FL. MC is overjoyed to hear the ML take the initiative. MC plans for a horror movie date and explains how the ML can soothe the 2FL (by whispering into her ear) whenever she is scared. ML retorts that she must be rich with experiences (essentially he assumes the MC and cousin have done this before). MC ignores the snide and tells him she should know how to pursue a girl as she is a girl herself. MC tells ML to invite 2FL for the weekend movie date, and ML tells her that MC should come along too in the event that 2FL bails or feels uncomfortable.

MC agrees with this reasoning, and ML asks her if she is willing to help him even if this date fails. MC assures him that she will help until ML and 2FL are together, and that he can contact her at any moment for help. ML asks if it’s alright to contact her when she is in the middle of a date. Since MC knows she is fake dating, she tells the ML he can contact her then too—which makes the ML relieved and happy. Before going to the theater, MC dresses casually and decides to wear the ugly black coat. Her friend is appalled at her choices and tells her to change, but MC thinks it is perfect (mostly due to the fact that it is not her who is going on the date). When she arrives at the theater, she realizes that ML was early. This was a pleasant surprise to her since original timeline ML charged 5000 per hour and was never early for any appointment. ML had expensive imported snacks and milk tea with him which makes MC happy as he put in a lot of effort for the date. While waiting for 2FL, ML asks her why she is wearing the hideous black coat. MC tells him she cherishes the coat which makes ML speechless. Eventually, MC is concerned of the 2FL’s tardiness. She proposes to call, but ML intercepts and says he’ll call her. He walks away for a moment as he makes the call. After the call, he tells her 2FL can’t make it because she has diarrhea. ML and MC decide to watch the movie and ML hands her the milk tea. Before entering the theater, ML pleads for the MC to not mention any of this to the 2FL. MC realizes the diarrhea might make the 2FL uncomfortable, so she promises to keep their movie date a secret.

While watching the horror movie, ML comforts the MC by whispering in her ear, holding her hand, and covering her eyes during the scary scenes. MC becomes confused as she starts to get dangerous thoughts. ML was perfectly acting out the role of a boyfriend, and MC knows ML will get the 2FL with no help at all. MC and ML leave the theater early as MC cannot handle the horror movie. She apologizes and offers to compensate him by watching a comedy movie later. MC worries that ML will not like comedy movies, but he tells her that he likes comedy films. She then starts to narrate a few of her favorite films. In the original timeline, she never casually spoke with ML. ML and her always spoke about work, so this conversation was like a breath of fresh air for her.

After the movie, MC suggests the ML buy the 2FL a present as her birthday was coming up. They go to a jewelry shop because MC says women (like herself) prefer material objects instead of practical objects. In the jewelry shop, MC and ML look at various different bracelets. Eventually MC spots a rose gold bracelet with a lock and key charm. She loves the bracelet but is unhappy to find out it costs 2000. ML asks if she liked the designer bracelet, but before she could answer, he purchases the bracelet. The store clerk praises the ML and tells the pair that this was the last bracelet. MC is saddened because she hoped to buy the bracelet herself with her own earnings one day. Afterwards, they go to a popular restaurant, and MC is surprised with how meticulous the ML has been. They order a few expensive dishes, and MC has one of the best meals of her life.

After leaving, MC appreciates ML and tells him that he is the best person she has ever seen. ML is amused by this and asks her if he is better than the cousin. Since they aren’t truly dating, MC quickly tells the ML that the cousin cannot compare to him. To stoke the ML’s ego, she continues to praise the ML (better body, taller, more handsome) and lets down the cousin. She stumbles as she tries to find more reasons. ML laughs and tells her he doesn’t need a 100 reasons. MC appreciates the gesture and tells him it is hard to criticize her “boyfriend” and praise another man. ML immediately becomes unhappy with the MC’s reminder that she is taken.

    Chapters 39-41
    Chapters 39-41

Chapter begins with the cousin calling the MC telling her how the horror movie date worked out between him and his older crush. He also bought his crush a bracelet. Even though he is short of money, he knows his relationship is progressing in the right direction. MC was happy to hear that ML’s tricks worked for the cousin. Afterwards, the ML gifts her with the bracelet, giving her the excuse that 2FL didn’t accept the costly gift. This confuses MC as 2FL accepted her brother’s expensive gifts in the original timeline. MC tries to refuse the gift by saying she is a woman of good morals, but ML reminds her that he watched her try to cheat on an exam, and yet did not report her to the academic integrity board. Eventually, MC takes the gift.

ML calls her in the middle of the day asking her if they could meet in an hour. MC agrees to this, but before she could end the call, ML overhears the cousin. Immediately, he tells her that he wants to see her now rather than later. MC and ML meet at a western restaurant, and MC appreciates and praises ML for his handsomeness as he is wearing a semi-formal suit. ML is shy with all the praises which makes MC amused. While having lunch, ML asks if he can declare his feelings to his crush. MC tells him he shouldn’t attack in that manner. Instead, he should continue to market himself and make the 2FL depend on him more. If the relationship is too easy, the 2FL wouldn’t cherish it, but if she worked hard to get him, she would cherish him more. While MC is suggesting future date ideas, ML rejects them all. This confuses MC as all her date ideas (badminton, tennis) were the original ML’s strengths.

Eventually, MC remembers how 2FL and ML competed in a dance competition in the original life. ML even taught the MC how to tango in the original life as they attended many banquets. MC decides to bring together ML and 2FL by using the dance competition. When MC asks 2FL if she will participate in the competition, 2FL tells her she will have a solo performance as ML did not want to dance with her. Although he wrote down that he knew how to tango on his resume, ML was not willing to participate. MC confronts the ML, and the ML tells her that he isn’t too confident in his tango skills. MC offers to teach ML tango to make him more confident to dance with the 2FL during the competition. As they begin the dance, MC is amazed at how disoriented the ML is while dancing. To make sure he is well prepared for the competition, MC offers to teach him for 1-2 hours every day. The brother hears that ML and 2FL are scheduled to dance the tango. He complains that tango is very erotic as the moves are ambiguous and the partners are close.

MC eventually cuts one of their tango practice sessions short because 2ML will be tutoring her. ML offers to tutor her instead, but MC doesn’t want to trouble him anymore. While arguing, ML finds out that 2ML has been tutoring MC frequently. ML asks her how her “boyfriend” feels as she must be spending more time with the 2ML than the cousin. MC tells him that he shouldn’t worry and the cousin and her are doing well. During this dance session, ML was dancing perfectly. As they danced, MC was distracted by the ML’s closeness. She made a mistake, but the ML perfectly recovered their dance. MC praises him and tells him he’s all ready for the dance with the 2FL. But he tells her he twisted his ankle while playing basketball. This makes the MC concerned as he’ll be unable to participate in the dance competition. Worse news came later in the day when her brother tells her that he and the 2FL are officially dating. MC is surprised since everything in this timeline seemed to be occurring much faster than usual. When she asks the brother when he and the 2FL got together, she realizes it was the same day the 2FL had diarrhea and couldn’t attend the movie date. Later, the brother told her he gave 2000 dollars-worth of skincare products to the 2FL which again surprised the MC as the 2FL rejected the ML’s bracelet. Eventually, the brother even told her that 2FL decided to have a solo performance and will no longer be dancing with the ML.

@Uncopyright, no problem! I really, really enjoyed reading this novel, so writing the detailed spoilers allow me to re-read the novel with a purpose! As for the pro-bono case, sadly, that truth will be revealed towards the end.

    Chapters 42-44
    Chapters 42-44

MC was worried about how the ML would handle the news of the 2FL being taken. While she walks back to her dorm, the 2FL calls her and asks if she is willing to come over to watch a practice recital. MC goes to the gymnasium, but before she enters, she hears the 2FL softly rejecting the ML. She tells the ML that the ML will meet a better girl in the future and quickly leaves the scene. MC is saddened as she witnessed a similar rejection in the original timeline, though that rejection came a little bit later. 2FL meets the MC and realizes that MC has overheard the rejection. 2FL asks the MC to keep the rejection a secret, saying it would embarrass not only the ML but also the brother as she is now in a relationship with the brother. MC promises her to keep the rejection a secret. However, she is depressed that her boss will never have a chance at love. She decides that she will just find a new girl for the ML, and invites the ML out for barbecue. She doesn’t bring up the rejection as she believes it is a sore spot for the ML. ML realizes she is feeling down. MC admits to this and begins to speak about relationships. She tries to evade the ML’s attention by telling the ML that couples from different professions (both 2FL and ML are in law profession) seem more compatible than couples in the same professions. This stuns the ML as the MC didn’t think so before.

After being tutoring, MC invites 2ML to dinner. 2ML asks if she is able to attend an English speech competition on the weekend, and MC tells him she’ll be there for support. MC even invites her friends and the ML. ML is surprised she knows about the English competition and is extremely happy when the MC asks if they could go together. MC also realizes the cousin is participating, but the MC warns him she will be cheering for her classmates instead. The cousin wasn’t offended and told her he only cared about his girlfriend cheering for him. At the event, MC meets the ML who is dressed. MC and the friend show him an a part of the LED sign that essentially reads “I’m going crazy for you!” (I don’t believe this is what the sign says, but MTL is saying this so I’ll go with it for now) to support the law students. ML seemed moved by the words and asked if MC had another sign to support her boyfriend. MC tells him she didn’t make a sign for the cousin, and instead was only supporting the law school today. This news definitely improved the ML’s mood. 2ML comes into the scene and is surprised to see that ML came so early. MC is shocked to learn ML is also participating in the competition. ML frowns and asks her why she didn’t know already. Before MC can respond, 2ML pulls ML backstage as the competition was beginning. When 2ML went on stage, the friend pulled out the sign, but before MC can stop her, the friend opens up the entire sign which reads “2ML, I’m going crazy for you.” ML realizes the sign is not for him.

ML finished up his English speech with ease and perfection, but instead of returning to his seat, he leaves the auditorium. The cousin began his speech, but instead of paying attention to him, MC searched the crowd for the cousin’s girlfriend. After the speeches concluded, the friend asks why ML hasn’t returned. When she glances back at the participant crowd, she realizes the ML and the cousin are both missing. When MC finds them, the cousin came to her half beaten up. The ML assumes the cousin is cheating the MC, but the cousin insists the MC knew about his relationship. MC explains that the cousin and her were never in a relationship which made ML a bit more relaxed. After apologies are made, MC praises the ML for being great, but she also tells him he shouldn’t be so impulsive. He should think about himself before doing anything that may harm him. ML asks if she is single and willing to date, for which the MC says she is single but is not interested in dating at the moment. ML asks her what type of man she would be interested in and the MC replies the following (will condense what she says using MTL (again not an official translation)):

“To be honest, I don’t care much for the appearance as long as he looks pleasing to the eye. The most important point is his soul. In the future, my boyfriend must be sensible and understandable. A few annoying men are too possessive and jealous. Those men are too naïve and immature.”

    Chapters 45-47
    Chapters 45-47

MC continues to explain that her dream guy should be able to cook, be humorous, be extroverted, be generous. ML’s face blackens as he realizes that he doesn’t fit a lot of the MC’s wishes. MC also tells her she wants to be chased for a few months, and ML is angered that she wants to be chased for a few months instead of a few days. MC defends herself saying she wants to enjoy the feeling of being pursued. She also tells him she prefers old-school romance (so letters, flowers) instead of ostentatious confessions. MC asks why the ML is asking her all of this, and ML tells her he’ll be on the lookout for single guys who match her criteria. MC is incredibly pleased, but before the conversation can continue, her friend rushes in and takes her away for a girls’ talk. The friend asks if MC is willing to attend a speed dating event now that she is single. In exchange for attending the event, the friend will give her a VIP card that will give her access to book rooms in the friend’s hotel chain. MC agrees to this proposition. She decides to wear the black ugly coat so her friend would seem much more beautiful. The friend meets someone (will name him Piano boy as he likes to listen to classical piano music) and they hit off. MC feels awkward at being the third wheel and points to nothing in particular. She tells the couple that someone in that corner interested her and quickly leaves.

That was a mistake. After leaving, a very sketchy looking guy approaches her and tells her she was pointing to him. He immediately tells her what he expects of her (honestly the scene was creepy and hard to stomach, for those of you who care to read this, it is chapter 46). MC gets out of the conversation and meets up with her friend. Her friend tells her that she has an upcoming date with piano boy, but she laments how she needs to pretend to like classical music in order to keep up the relationship. The friend tells the MC piano boy would not like her if she is too assertive. While they head back to the dorms, they see the brother be chased by one of his admirers (will name her fangirl since that’s what she is). The brother informs fangirl that he is dating and bolts out of there. The friend and MC are surprised to witness such a scene. After getting back to the dorm, ML texts the MC and wonders if she is free. MC tells the ML she is going home for the weekend as it is her mother’s birthday. ML wanted to tell MC something, but he is also willing to wait until she comes back.

MC and brother head back home. The brother complains how fangirl has been annoying him with messages and has been stalking him across campus. The brother also tells her how the ML’s attitude has changed. Before, ML would always seem angry whenever the brother was near. But as of late, ML began to greet him and converse with him. He even asked the brother for his phone number. The brother is astonished for this 360-degree change in attitude and wonders where the ML is in love with him. MC tells him it is impossible for ML to love him. After coming home, her friend tells her she is officially off the market as piano boy and she made it official. MC realizes that everyone around her was falling in love. She thinks about the ML at this time. She wonders what he is doing and even misses him. MC dreams of ML’s wedding, but she was unable to see the bride’s face causing her to have mixed feelings. The following day, a love letter arrives to their house. The brother believes fangirl has sent him the letter as it is not signed and throws it away. The brother reads part of the letter to the MC: (again not official translation as I am using MTL):

“Although I may not be the type you like, I’m willing to work hard to become the person you do like. Just for you. You are the first and last person I actively pursued.”

Chapters 48-50 (so much happens in these chapters!!)
    Chapters 48-50

The birthday celebration is over. The friend calls the MC after her first date with piano boy. On her date she met 2FL who also coincidentally liked piano. 2FL and the couple went to dinner together, and the friend found it awkward as the 2FL knew so much about piano while the friend knew so little. The friend reminds MC of a childhood promise: They would both go on double dates with their respective boyfriends. After finishing the call, MC is saddened that ML hasn’t contact her once over the weekend. The brother asks her if she is in a relationship as she glanced at her phone multiple times over the day, which the MC denies. The brother agrees and tells her that she couldn’t possibly be in a relationship. Instead, she obviously has an unrequited crush since no boy would be willing to fall for her. Before they could get into an argument, 2FL calls the brother and he happily answers her call. MC thinks back to her words. She told the ML that girls needed to depend on their crush. After their crush attacks them with their love, the crush needed to retreat so the girl can organize her feelings. She wonders if the ML was using that trick on her right now. At this moment, MC realizes that she likes ML a little bit.

2ML calls her later that night and invites her for dinner, telling her that he had good news to share to her. MC agrees and they meet up at the restaurant. MC is surprised when 2ML orders many dishes. Before he could tell her why, ML enters the scene, seemingly resentful and angry. 2ML explains that ML overheard the phone conversation and invited himself to dinner. ML wanted to dine at that restaurant and 2ML had no reason to reject the ML. ML is quiet throughout the dinner and only drinks lots and lots of chrysanthemum tea. When MC asks why the ML is drinking so much tea, he tells her that he is very angry. When MC asks 2ML what the good news was, he tells her that many good things have been happening to him and his family. He tells the MC that she is his lucky charm as his fortune improved after meeting her. After 2ML leaves to attend a call, ML taunts the MC about her “luckiness.” He tells her students should work hard for their success instead of believing in luck. MC retorts back at him and ML becomes silent. Eventually, as he drinks the tea, he asks her if she has anything to tell him. MC tells him she was nothing to tell him. ML’s face exploded with bitterness again.

2ML comes back (before the tension can get worse between the MC and ML) and he tells her that she no longer has to send him fruits. He thanks her for the breakfast, nonetheless. ML is surprised and angered to learn MC has been cutting up fruit for the 2ML for a very long time. He is even more pissed to learn she used the same pineapple marketing scheme on the 2ML. MC wants to die as ML begins to furiously drink the chrysanthemum tea again. 2ML is so oblivious to the tension and just talks. Dinner is finished, and ML offers to pay as he was the uninvited guest. ML pays before 2ML can do anything and they all leave. 2ML goes in another direction after learning his sister was in the hospital, leaving the ML and MC to walk back to the dorms. MC couldn’t help herself and asked the ML why he was in such a foul mood. ML tells her that she should clearly know why—which confuses her to no end. MC tries to pick up a conversation with ML. She eventually talks about how two lawyers should never get married as they would tear each other apart with their knowledge. Instead, a lawyer should marry a doctor instead. This clearly doesn’t help and makes the ML angrier. She quickly switches to another topic, but nothing improves the ML’s mood.

ML eventually stops walking and corners MC into a red brick wall (literally imagine any Asian drama scene with an overbearing ML pushing the FL into a wall). ML and MC were very close, and she was forced to look at the ML as the ML locked the MC. ML suddenly asks her if she was going to be mad at him. MC rambles, but before she could make her point, ML kisses her gently. MC is so surprised she forgot to react and breathe. MC describes the kiss to be a little like tango. ML was leading the kiss while MC was following his lead. The kiss eventually ends. As MC is recollecting herself, ML drops the bombshell (not really a bombshell since everyone except the dense MC knew) that he’s never liked the 2FL. Instead, he’s always loved her. MC is stunned, and ML is angry that she’s stunned. He asks her why she didn’t already know as he made his feelings for her quite obvious. He then tells her that he is aware of how she is toying around with his and the 2ML’s feelings by giving them fruit, breakfast, and supporting them both. ML tells her he will not let the MC succeed in playing around with their feelings. He tells her how he’s confessed to her in the past, but starting from this moment, he won’t let her win. He decides to not like her anymore and that she should stop looking for him.

MC is shocked to learn that he confessed to her as she doesn’t remember a confession. She asks him why he decided to kiss her if he was going to end his feelings for her. ML simply responds that he couldn’t hold back. As MC connects the clues, she apologizes and tells the ML she’s only known of his feelings today. ML angrily responds that he’s taken the initiative to write her a love letter (something he’s never done), yet she’s still had the gall to pretend as though she didn’t know of his feelings. MC eventually pieces together the confession letter that arrived on her mother’s birthday was ML’s letter and not fangirl’s letter. She looks at him in a daze and ML blushes. He tells her she shouldn’t look at him in this way as he’ll be tempted to kiss her again. Eventually ML asks if MC received the letter and MC tells the ML she has not. MC tells her that her brother was being chased by fangirl, thus, they both believed fangirl sent the letter (they also talk about how the brother mistakenly thought ML was in love with the brother (ML is disgusted by the thought)). She then asks him why he didn’t sign the letter. He becomes embarrassed and tells her that he was nervous as he wrote the letter as it was his first love letter.

ML asks for the MC’s response now that they’ve cleared the misunderstanding. MC teases the ML and reminds him of how he’d just told her that he would forget her. ML quickly gets annoyed and asks her again if she is willing to accept him. MC is stunned with everything that has happened and begins to slap herself to prove it wasn’t a dream. ML stops her while MC blissfully gazes up at ML. In his eyes, she only sees herself. MC feels a multitude of emotions, including confusion, disbelief, bliss, shyness, surprise. The chapter ends as she asks herself what ML means to her.

    Chapters 51-53
    Chapters 51-53

MC asks the ML if she could respond to him tomorrow. ML is surprised but agrees. As they walk back to the forms, ML repeatedly tells the MC that she needs to think carefully. He tells her that he is a catch and that many people are waiting to seize him. After returning to the dorm, MC asks her friend what it would be like to date the ML. The friend tells her that it is good to dream of such things. As she lies down in bed, ML calls her and asks her if she is still carefully thinking about her answer. After that, ML calls her anxiously every hour asking the MC if she is diligently thinking about her answer. Eventually, MC tells him that she will give her response tomorrow after she writes her Western legal history essay. ML offers to write the essay for her, but MC refuses the offer. As she writes her essay, she becomes distracted with thoughts about the ML and becomes angry that her brother believed the confession letter was from fangirl. Eventually, ML calls her one last time. He tells her he can’t wait. Since it is midnight, she must give him her answer. MC rushes downstairs as ML is below her balcony, shivering in the cold. MC rushes downstairs and tells him to go back. ML refuses to do so unless she promises him to tell him her answer. She looks at the ML pitifully and tells him that she still wishes to be chased. ML tells her he can make it up to her in the future. He promises to write her paper, buy her breakfast, help her in school, become rich in the future so they can travel the world.

MC decides she will date him; however, they will have to enter a dating trial period for six months. ML obviously doesn’t like this and they manage to shorten the duration to 2 months (right after the trial period, they’ll be able to celebrate their first Valentine’s Day as a couple). ML is extremely happy with the way things have turned out. He tells her it feels good to like someone. He asks the MC how she feels. She responds that the moment feels like a movie moment. When he asks what movie she was thinking of, she responds Romeo and Juliet. ML is annoyed and wonders why she couldn’t think up of a better movie. Romeo and Juliet died, and Romeo climbed up to the balcony to have an adulterous relationship with Juliet. ML doesn’t want to leave, but MC convinces him that they will meet tomorrow. MC goes back to her room giddy. She has troubles falling asleep as ML confessed to her.

The following morning, ML comes to MC’s dormitory very early in the morning all dressed up. Like her, ML has dark circles under the eyes. They go to breakfast, and the brother interrupts them. The brother sees the dark circles underneath the ML’s eyes and recalls how a stupid man jumped over the walls yesterday. MC learns that the entire male dorm was on alert trying to catch the man, and that ML sprained his foot as he jumped over the wall. After the brother leaves to attend a call, MC asks if the ML is alright and the ML reassures her that he’s alright. The brother comes back and continues to talk about the mystery man who jumped the wall. He talks about how the school recently installed spikes and barbed wire on the walls. The brother hypothesizes that the man met his lover at night. ML is clearly not too happy with all this gossiping and decides to leave. As he is walking away, the brother notices that the ML has a slight limp.

The brother realizes that the MC is blushing and teases her. MC ignores the teasing and asks the brother if he still has the love letter as the love letter was for him. The brother becomes interested and immediately asks her who wrote it. MC just tells him to bring the letter to her. When MC goes to class, the creepy guy comes with a bouquet of flowers. ML watches creepy guy hand the flowers and immediately interrogates the dude. Creepy guy tells ML which department he’s from and how he and MC met. MC tells creepy guy everything is a misunderstanding and that she is already taken. Creepy guy doesn’t believe this as it had only been a few days since the speed dating event. At this point, everyone in the class is focused on them. ML pulls out a purple water lily and tells him that he is MC’s boyfriend in a loud and imposing voice. Creepy boy retreats as he understands the message loud and clear.

Does anyone know what purple water lilies symbolize? Google told me that they represent power, but I don't know how it fits with the scene.

Also, I'll be taking a break. Will finish the rest of the story tomorrow! It's pretty much smooth sailing from now on and the main couple shows a lot of maturity, especially the female lead, in the way they handle the relationship.

Okay, so I realized that the post including spoilers for chapters 54-58 are awaiting moderator approval. Hopefully the approval will come soon. Chapter 65 is my favorite chapter. I died while reading this. Therefore, further posts will be made by my ghost.

    Chapter 65

Now that everything is resolved, the brother and ML happily chat about sports. The friend also joins in on the conversation. While the men talk about players’ skills, the friend talks about the players’ looks. This annoys the brother and he insults the friend. The friend then retorts that 2FL broke up with him so he shouldn’t be so haughty. But, brother admits that 2FL cheated on him, so he ended the relationship. The friend was surprised and immediately praises the brother. The brother finds out the friend’s ex-boyfriend also cheated, and they immediately strike a quasi-friendship with each other. The friend wishes she could’ve beaten up her ex-boyfriend, and the brother promises he will do it for her. The brother and the friend praise each other and hope they could get better significant others in the future. MC is very surprised at this sudden turn of events. Dinner ends and ML and MC bring back the drunk friend and brother to their respective dormitories. Before the night ends, ML gives MC a yogurt drink, telling her it will help her stomach as she just had spicy food. MC tries to take the confession letter from the ML, but the ML claims rights on it as he is the original owner. MC complains she’s never read it, and ML tells her there is no use as she is already his girlfriend. ML thinks she’ll no longer fight for the letter, but MC uses that opportunity to snatch it and run away. She reads the letter in her dormitory. (This is my translation of MTL as I suppose you guys also want to know what ML ended up writing).

“I wanted to wait until you returned to school on Monday so I could confess in person. But I overestimate myself. I like you and can’t wait to confess, but I know you like old-school romance. So, I write to you instead. In this way, I can relax as I don’t have to face you. Although I may not be your ideal type, I am willing to work hard to become everything it is that you do like. I will learn how to cook, learn how to coax and be gentle, learn to be tolerant and generous, learn to be funny and lively. You are the first and last person that I will actively pursue. I never thought that there would be a day like this. In the past, I never understood how “in front of true love, people lose their dignity and pride,” though, right now, I’m starting to feel that feeling too…

“When I walk with you, I slow down, without realizing, because I just want to walk with you a little longer, even if I admonish myself again and again for being silly. My eyes are always looking out for you. Watching the happy you, arrogant you, indifferent you… I can’t fully express my mood. It’s as if the farther you are, the more I am at loss…

“I hope I will be the only receiver of your smile. I hope that I will be the only one to see your playful side. I hope we can listen to the morning alarm together. I hope your eyes, smile, nose all belong to me forever after you read this letter.”

MC thinks back to the ML’s personality. She knows the amount of humiliation he must’ve face as he wrote this letter. The ML takes that moment to call her and shyly asks if she has read the letter. Before she can answer, he explains how it was his first time writing such a letter. It was naïve and simple, and if he could, he would’ve written a better letter for her—using his legal knowledge to write a much more logical letter instead. MC interrupts him and tells him the letter was very well written.

MC says: “ML, you don’t need to work hard anymore to become my ideal man. Because, I like you as you are now.”

ML complains he won’t be able to sleep after hearing such words. MC admits she can’t sleep either, so ML sings her a lullaby. The lullaby was about himself, and ML confesses he is actually good at badminton, tennis, and tango. He only lied so he could spend more time with the MC. MC angrily reminds him of how he took advantage of her (by hugging her) during their tango practice sessions. ML tries to change the topic, but MC surprises him.

MC: “ML, I will only belong to you, forever.”

MC cuts the call immediately. She was able to fall asleep, but poor ML had troubles sleeping after hearing such a confession.
