can I make a trap from my chest(open the chest, put a dead corpse, let a stick to keep it open, pull the string that attached on the stick so the chest closed and stab the monster inside)?

 

Because a sword stuck inside of a hole in a piece of wood, wouldn't be fixated, would fly out at 90+% of the time, and would flail around like... sword stuck through a piece of wood

A plank would literally do no damage to these monsters. Why are you so adamant about wielding one?
