In the manhwa the queen of babel simply calls for Ebony's release, since her case was high profile and the queen knew about it. Several characters are quick to mention that the queen wouldn't do anything if Ebony gets out of line, and she doesn't try to contact Ebony or anything. So Ebony and others expect it was a one time deal. The queen was the victor in the war and really wanted to stick it to the patriarchy society. The queen probably didn't know for sure that Ebony was innocent, although she likely suspected. It was apparently a common practice to catch a heiress in a contrived controversy, so that the family or other vultures could take away her assets. Perhaps the worst character (some minor character don't remember the name) in the manhwa was going to be apart just that. He was going to pretend to be Gillian's lover and even kidnap her if required, so that others would have the ability to seize the assets of her dead husband. What makes it worse is that the character was a student of her husband, and had received an artificial arm to replace one he lost in war. When confronted the minor character was ecstatic that the Gillian would be his. Like she would accept it after he raped her and caused her to lose all her assets. This society may be an utter extreme example of patriarticle society. Ebony's fiancé wanted to prove that she was a virgin in front of his friends, and at her retrial it came out that he had molested a bunch of different girls of soldiers he sent to war in his stead. All the decent characters in ML's mansion including ML came from outside the country. ML lived most of his life in exile
Spoiler: Characters Ending - Since Danté became the king, he and Ebony never had a formal wedding since she didn't want to be a queen, but everyone still acknowledged them as a couple. Ebony was given the title of Marchioness and became the first consul. The Schneider castle was then gifted to her by Danté. They only had one daughter, Juana, who was a total copy of Danté. - Crowning himself as a king by force after chasing Charles away, he took the citizens hostage so that Danté and military army couldn't attack him. He was a cruel tyrant and the citizens hated him. So the citizens hated him and helped Danté and military army into the capitol. After the capitol was conquered, he escaped to kill Evony who went to meet King of Nova by putting the royal palace and the capitol on fire. Danté chased him and defeated him. He was paraded back in a cage with ashes and curses being thrown at him. He was then killed in prison by Cicelyn, the woman he manipulated and turned into his assassin. - Charles without his pride and Justice Monteira misguiding him was actually nice. Humbled after being saved by Evony, Danté, and the Resistance, he became close with the couple. He divorced his wife by her wish, but still persistently pursued her for more than a decade until they reunited again. His son, who grew up with Juana and was like a brother to her, became a king at eighteen after Danté stepped down from the throne. - Patricia, who exposed her part in helping his lover kill the late king in hope of getting executed, changed her mind after she heard the news of Eviny's pregnancy. She got a life sentence instead with Benjamin's help and got out in parole after idk how many years. She then accompanied Juana travel across the continent along with Benjamin and the captain of the Resistance, finding the right bride for Charles' son who had became a king as their excuse lol. She was a mother figure for Evony, and Danté treated her as one too. - Benjamin left the Kingdom and returned to the organization he was from before Danté was crowned a king, because for him the only King he would serve was Danté's father, Lucas. He only came back secretly to see Marsha in her last breath. The first side story was about his meeting with Lucas and Marsha. She was his first love, but he never told her. - Jillian had a son with Sanko and became Juana's nanny, and Daphne became the best knight of Karkass after defeating Knight Harace, who became her lover. This is actually the best rofan I've ever read. Evony was the main character, but this story isn't just about her. The main theme of this story might be woman empowerment in a mysoginistic kingdom, but it also tells us about, humanity, greed, kindness, and sacrifice. This story was cruel, heartbreaking, and healing. Unlike other rofan FL, Evony had no buff except for her brain and wit. No magical power, no holy power, no future knowledge. She wasn't even strong, in physical sense. I wish there's more FL like her. The novel is already completed in radish, if anyone interested.
