So, what are you guys' favorite -dere type (ex: tsundere, yandere, kuudere, deredere etc.)? For me personally, I love the tsundere type. Specifically the tsundere males cuz they are oh so adorbs and they're always so dorky and funny. I just love those characters who are cold/hostile on the outside but on the inside they are a bunch of loving, caring, cinnamon buns.
Speaking of abandoned waifu that MC picked from the forest, this types seem to be the most popular in fantasy setting along with powerhouse clan waifu.
The only 'dere' I liked was 'Luo Huo'er' of True Martial World.(she's not even the FMC) Spoiler "What do I need to meet Yi Yun for? In a few days, that toad will move back beside us. In the future, we will meet frequently. What a pain!" "That toad has really lucked out. This lady's first hug was given to him." "Well, I'll treat it as if I was hugging a pet dog. I hugged the family dog when I was young, so there is no difference!"
Just think of Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion as she's apparently the poster child for this type.
Go deredere, and no further, kuudere if you can manage it, if you get any greedier you're as likely to get a yandere or goudere.
Rei is a dandere. Dandere shows little emotion and only very subtle displays of affection. Dan comes from danmari, silent. Kuu in kuudere is derived from cool and acts accordingly. CC and Homura are two examples, and most of the cool onee-samas who get love letters from girls in girls' schools fit in here. Personally, I have to agree with CountryMage. Deredere is the best option beyond doubt if we're talking real life.
