hey guys, there is a movie that you must absolutly watch if you know a bit of french, its "Un singe en hiver" i watched it when i was 14 and i still remember it every night at every drink! so if you can watch this fabulous movie who have Belmondo, one of the leading french actor of that time
Lucky Luke with Terence Hill is better than the one with Jean Dujardin. You can always watch the other with Belmondo, Louis de Funès or Jean Gabin for the old ones, Jean Reno for more modern ones. Those written by Audiard for nice dialogues or directed by Luc Besson (Taxi, Léon, Lucy, Nikita, Le Grand Bleu, le 5eme element, ...) But it depends really on what type of movie you wish to watch.
Banlieue 13 1 & 2 have a lot of action, with the "French Jason Statham" or The Transporter 1-3 if you prefer with Statham
If you're into French cinema, you should also check out Delicatessen and City of Lost Children. Both great movies.
Tati Danièle is also a good movie to watch if you want to discover a good and original french movie that isn't well know out of France. And if you can, try to watch movies by Jacques Tati (poetic and funny slice of life) or Michel Audiard (One of the best dialoguist ever, sharp, creative and witty) they are timeless classics.
Why should we watch it? Brief synopsis? Review? Anything? You haven't convinced us—or at least me—to watch it.
why? why do you need a reason? do you have a reason more valid than "someone told me to" to wake up in the morning or to do good deed? its a story about two men, alcohol and family. a father.... whyen a franch son ask for his papa if he is truly french it will be for two things: to drink or to ask for advice. le Français have a pride that is often forgoten, even the son of the country forgot it. in the end, what matter? family? what is family! friendship? what is friendship! its a story that can give you any answer, from the goal of life to a dream for your darkest night. its a story that will give you the answer you need if you look for it. if you can watch it, watch it! not with the eyes of a child, but with the eyes of a man! when a man see others men, their brain push them to choose the alpha with clever manipulation of hormone. but when a man meet his match, or the one who have the potential to succeed him, he can try to destroy him, or smile knowing he is not alone. the second choice will push the man toward a form of love that other will call eccentric, but the man will understand, because he will reach the angels. it might seem foolish to you, but if your though go in that direction, it only mean you are not ready yet! ready for what? ready for the truth, because when you reach nirvana the only thingyou see is a smile warming your hearth. in the end, all this might seem out of place, why am i making myself the advocate of sin by preaching for alcohol? in the end this question do not matter. the only thing that matter is humanity, all of you seem to forget that in the end dust is dust and that you will one day cease to exist. thats why some of yu need to drink, because you can only learn my view, by being in my place. I Maskedcerf can assure you all that no one can talk for something he did not try himself. all my though, you could even say what i am now derive from this movie, "un singe en hiver". thats why i say: watch it! this is a drunk rambling, but i hope i convinced some of you to watch and to think, because it would mean that next time i drink, i will be sure that i won't be alone, and that someone in this world is worthy of my love (no homo tho, love in a familial sense!). some do not understand that the only true family possess two sort of people: those who are related to you by blood and those who feel like brothers or sisters to you! soin the end this was just my dumb drunk rant, i wanna create a thread just for that, i will do it while i am still drunk! all of this to say, watch "un singe en hiver", or simply always stay curious, never stop learning new things, which mean: Never stop contemplating Art, everything is art and everything is worth the time you put in it since life is meaningless: give it the meaning you want! and my personal livestyle: Hedonisme, live an happy life unknow friend!
