Oh gawd, please don't make this rabbit hole into a sinkhole. Next thing you know, we accidentally uncover that Trump working with the Russians was actually a Qidian plot to help undermine Wuxiaworld.

 

I guess it's time to boycott GT, too. I wonder why they haven't told people themselves, it would be better than finding out like this

 

I'll repeat here what I wrote on reddit,

It's worth mentioning that this is just a draft, and likely predates the agreement between GT and QI.

QI has an interest to maximize their apparent value, meaning that the 90% there may only reflect their desired outcome of the deal with GT.

While this certainly doesn't look good for GT, we'd need to see the actual filing, and not the draft to actually determine if that is true or not.

 

Even if qidan owns gravity, gravity has been a provider of good consistent novels for quite some time. I don't see a reason to start hating on them just because of their connection to qidan.

 

Is it natural for the PR guy to not know anything ??

 

July 3rd is 1 month ago, and based on the excellent conditions for translating QI books, not needing to post on webnovels, paying all translators a base salary, it seems like GT is getting support from someone. Unless you think that GT, a substantially smaller website than WW, is able to offer QI conditions so good that they can get this excellent treatment while WW gets dmca'd, slandered, lied to, etc.

 

???? That what you don't seem to understand. Qidian was trying to turn the CN like what yen press did. Legalize, but put out subpar translations and do it when they feel like it with no competition as they would have the greatest bank. Luckily WW is trying to stop it from becoming like how JP novels have become (I guess Qidian did not see the potential until a community/business model had already stabilized). I donate to some smaller scale translators who's novels I really enjoy (less than 10$ but it's still something) and I don't want their translation work taken away just so Qidian can give it to guys like novelsaga and wuxiadream to translate. What I'm trying to say, it's better for the works to stay in the hands of translators who are fans of the novel instead of people who are only in it for pure profit (some translators are also in it for profit but they dedicate their career to translating quality work)

Well of course it is if you think about it Qidian is all about original novels not translated ones. And who's the only translation site who hosts original english novels. Ping ping ping you guessed right it's Gravity. Yeah... they usually are just there for good PR, not for their expertise in business, right?
They'll be told what they need to know, the less actual truth they know the better, usually.

Normally i would agree about the whole leecher thing. But this isn't even about leechers. It's really about the people who donated, or supported through patreon. From the looks of it GT is basically double dipping for more $$$, and sold out?

 

Im just confused on the note, if CR owns 90% and 3rd party owns 10%. Does this mean GGP is out? since in this relationship GGP as original owner of GT is 2nd Party
