So we agree that IQ tests are flawed and hence increasing the general global IQ results by ten would change nothing seeing as stupidity can only be countered by common sense and we've clarified that most people lack common sense. Hence my first point remains absolute.
I disagree. If we do raise everyone intelligence by 10 then it would be easier to move the world forward. I hope giving american 10 IQ points and we wouldn't have elected trump.
Yeah and with low level workers, instead of telling them to do something simple and them nodding yes yes and pretending to understand, they would actually understand it.
... Increased IQ has nothing to do with decision making skills. The only thing that increased IQ does is improve your computation skills. And by computation I mean how your brain processes information. Even people with all the information in the world tend to make mistakes and a high IQ isnt a blessing. Its scientifically proven that those whom are born with extremely high IQ values usually suffer from various degrees of autism because they find it difficult to converse with other people. It literally means they're on a whole other brainwave. Its all fine and dandy to claim you're smart asf but what's the point if you can't explain what you mean to the other lesser beings in the room?

It wouldn't matter seeing as I'm confident enough in my decision making skills to not be bothered by it. And if I did actually choose a number it'd be because its human nature to go after the bigger number. The bigger the better and all of that bs.

the OP is a theoretical "what if" but, rather than completely following the thought of "what would change if people magically got "smarter"", i went with the slightly more cynical explanation that the tests themselves (which would have been done to show such a change but weren't part of the OP's question) would have been altered in favor of making people feel more "equal". rather than everyone magically getting "smarter", it's more rational to think that the standards were lowered instead. that said, i didn't really give a proper conclusion for my "what if" answer, but i doubt people would change very much beyond the numbers themselves and how much smugger people would feel about themselves. long term, i could see people growing complacent and more would think they're capable of actually teaching/homeschooling their kids and things go WAY downhill from there.

I disagree, suppose you ask a dumb person what's the difference between mass and weight, and they reply same shit. Then you explain but they still don't get it, now raise their IQ and they understand. Now you ask them to choose which they want(can't think of an example here,so let's pretend mass is silver in value and weight gold) So they choose gold, how is that not better decision making. If you understand that someone is dumb and is gonna ruin your country, you ain't gonna vote for him. But if you need to choose in which direction your life goes, break up with a girl or not, get another job or not... then ofc IQ isn't gonna help you, coz it depends on luck. You have no idea how it's gonna turn out, your girl may fix her problem and then support you like no other, or she could cheat on you, you could go for a new job for a better wage, but if you stayed you unexpetedly could've gotten a meteor rise due to some new open position or whatever.
