Discussion Golden Apple or Silver Pear

There're too many versions of what elves are like scattered around. You'd have to look at the summation of all of them, then distill it down to a few key aspects. When you do, the main point would be their affinity with nature. Everything else is just packaging.

I'd rate them, as a race, akin to the Native American tribes or Austrailia's Aboriginal tribes. Perhaps pushed to an extreme. In nearly all stories they celebrate those elves who are more attuned to nature. They'd be more likely to have these elves undergo selective breeding. Then, as genetic variants occur, they'd further breed these into the mix with those who had higher affinity to sense or communicate with the subtleties of nature.

Over time, you'd get to the extreme when any nearly all peoples share very similar genetic markers and are predisposed to communicating to plants, animals, elements, and other spirits.

Silver pear sounds like something that you'd make some sort of equipment than something that gives racial attribute.

I was just planning on creating as many Elves species listed here and make them all go to war with on another.

 

Well I did say the Elves that has the Silver pear as its beginning fruit will know how to manufacture Mithril.

i was referring to using it as a material than it making them know how to manufacture mithril .

now that I think of it, this might be the reason why all high elves are jerks in every single story. maybe they only need some drug to be nice. getting stoned together might be why they always know something.
