From https://www.wired.com/story/ebola-is-now-curable-heres-how-the-new-treatments-work/?verso=true I always cheered for zmapp-chan in her struggle. Who's zmapp-chan you ask ?
Probably was made 10-20 years ago but only for rich people. Only becoming available now since they feel like they’ve milked people enough for just treating it, and now they’ll milk people to cure it.
One day a person might say "look at me peons, i found a cure for cancer", and the next day we all surrounded by zombies. Not the waddling gait old school zombies that goes 'bwaainn', but the strong, fast and intelligent kind. I Am Legend is a prophecy.
The funny part is that the book that I Am Legend is based on is about vampires not zombies. Which is why the zombies in that movie avoid light.
Dude, when was the list time a rich person got ebola? And frankly, as it kills people relatively fast and it mostly affects poor people it will be hard to milk it
Well the cure could've been available a long time ago it's just that since it wouldn't be profitable enough they never created and distributed it. Thus is the way of capitalism.
It's not really that the cure is being hidden because of capitalism. Any new drug must undergo extensive research and testing to ensure that it does not cause adverse side effects or be the cause of another illness. While unknown adverse side effects may discovered after it's offered to the public, they have no way of knowing what the drug will do if it's ingested by someone with certain conditions not tested in the lab. It could take decades to come out not because it's been hidden, it could take decades because of testing. Long-term effects is also one of the tests. You can get the drugs early, but you have to sign up as lab rat of the drugs testing lab.
What @Ai chan said is absolutely right. In fact, getting the cure out faster is always better than late in the way of capitalism. If the diseases did too much damage, the capitalism would take too huge of a hit to make profit.
As an interesting side note, Viagra spent 9 years in testing, only FDA approved for dick hardening in 1998 despite the effects being found in mid 1980s. Only in 1989 did it start being tested for dick hardening but before that, it was originally tested for cure of high blood pressure. It failed as a cure for high blood pressure, but the nurses noticed that all the male human lab rats sported a hard on, so it became a dick hardening drug. Generally, drugs take 12 years in testing in the USA. Some drugs take longer or shorter, and some countries are stricter or looser in approving drugs. You don't want to try unapproved drugs. Basically don't buy from Jose.
