I don't think that the light novel series is worth it from the seven volumes I read.

It goes ridiculously off the rails from their original premise into alternate dimensions where they don't speak the language and spend months just scavenging and bartering for food to eat, Ranta remains exactly the same and only solely exists to fill up literally half the word count by repeating the situation in dialogue or saying stupid shit, and a bunch of high level people cares about them for no real reason except that Haru seems to have a small bit of leadership skills. There really is absolutely no reason for people to care about them, especially since they somehow do not become more powerful or skillful despite everything. The author recognizes that the story got popular from them being low-levels and decides to keep them low-levels.

those praising the anime being a fantastic work of adaptation obviously didnt read it because the LN focuses on a different group of people and the anime could almost be said to be completely original
