Gura Is #1! \(^^)/

As of today, Gura is the most popular Vtuber ever~!

Pretty crazy to see someone finally overtake Kizuna Ai... Though from what I've seen, Ai's channel isn't nearly as popular as it has been in the past, and its subscriber count is raising at a very slow pace nowadays, while Gura is still going at lightspeed~

Anyways, Gura is pretty much the only Vtuber I watch, and I don't even watch her that much, but I'm still happy to see this~

Soon enough she'll make a stream to celebrate 3M subscribers I guess, which is pretty darn impressive~

... Well, that's all, just sharing the news, I guess~

congrats to gura indeed. A friend of mine shamefully admits to simping for her singing voice lol. Dude thought vtubers were beneath him, but he had the rug pulled from under his feet! I don't really watch hololive, but I do follow most of the twitch vshoujos. Been following Nyanners long before vtubers was even a thing anyways. I don't know much about kizuna ai other than I think she started the vtubing thing, but I wasn't a fan of her special event music in azur lane so I never tried listening to her.

 

Gura's singing is great for sure! She's also fun to watch on her gaming streams though~

 

She's an English VTuber, it was only a matter of time before she surpassed Kizuna Ai. The global market is just too big compared to the Japanese market. Sure, some people might sub to Japanese VTubers either way but a lot of people won't since they can't understand them. I wouldn't be surprised if even more English VTubers surpass Kizuna Ai as well.

 

The only reason Ai was surpassed is because the channel lost a lot of its popularity in recent times and the subscriber count basically stagnated. Just compare the number of subscribers and the number of views for recent videos, it kinda speaks for itself.

Also, nobody else from Hololive EN is remotely as popular as Gura... Or rather, no other Vtuber is nearly as popular as Gura. Take a look at the Hololive rankings yourself.



This is not a case of the English audience being bigger, Gura is just a big outlier, and Ai happens to be past her prime.

 

It's been barely ten months since their debut. Given enough time, the English VTubers will dominate the top rankings. I am just making an observation of the inevitable.

You also need to take into account that Kizuna Ai was banned on Youtube twice. She lost a lot of fans on that first ban.

Also, Gawr Gura is English hololive and considering that there are 1.5 billion English speakers compared to only 120 million people for Japanese, it's only inevitable that she will one day overtake a Japanese-exclusive virtual youtuber. Also not every Japanese person use youtube, Niconico is still widely used in the Japanese mainland.

Frankly, Ai-chan isn't a fan of Gura. She's playing the innocent loli angle too much, and Ai-chan isn't into loli. The only time Ai-chan found her kinda adorable was when she looked horrified at Kiryu Coco's revelation that Coco's tail was a butt plug and could be taken off at any time.

But since we are talking about virtual youtubers, Ai-chan votes for Koro-chan

 

I didn't know Ai was banned twice... T.T

That's sad, really.
