    I’m gonna start speaking novel preferences. Personally i like male MC’s because i can identify with them. I don’t really like female MC’s, and i have no idea why. It could be because i immediately think “oh no, romance is gonna play too great of a role!”. What type novel do you like the most? Which gender in the poll, and specifications like ‘Evil’ or ‘clingy’ in the comments.

    I prefer female MC or GB as long as there is no romance. With romance, as long as it is subtle.

    The reason is because I find novels focusing on female MCs tend to have more inner thoughts of the MC at an emotional level. Where as male MC's tend to have horny as the only emotion. And their thought processes tend to be quite lacking. (I guess feeling and thinking isn't masculant enough?)

    Though I stay away from most chinese female MCs (that are non-comedy)... because last time I tried one, it made me cringe.

    I don't have any particular preference, but in terms of novels on NU, male MC ones are more approved.
    In general, female MC novels are good. They have more scope for struggles and all.
    Gender bender and all? neutral.

    Just realized that the only novel i'm currently reading with a mainly female pov is the end of the worlds poisonous mother

    Look for male mc novels because 95% of chinese female mc novels are nearly the same (at least to me). There is that 5% though so I do not completely remove them from my reading list but it is still lacking...

    Female. ... Not because the MCs are different. Because the authors are different. Usually better.

    Screw authors writing male MCs. They suck. (At writing).

    Male or male-to-female MC for me usually.
    But female MC is ok if it's not a chinese novel.

    Also, i don’t really read gender-bender because again... I like to have the protagonists pov. And i wouldn’t be able to live without a penis.

    They are better at writing drama and emotions, but I guess money means that they have to do a lot of redundancy

    i prefer male mc's because in 99% of female mc stories, the female mc is either a weakling constantly being saved, a thirsty thot parading around as "an ice cold beauty who needs no man" or some kind of completely over the bs asspull broken character that doesnt mesh with the plot to say that women are just as good or better than men

    I can't read novels with female MCs because when I read something I put myself in the MC's shoes and I feel uncomfortable pretending to be a girl
