Nah, HJC is considerable popular imo and it's a WW novel on top of that soon someone should pick it up, too bad for the forgotten ones like Genius Sword Immortal though...
Good luck! Hopefully, he'll give a positive reply, and I can close this thread. It might be faster to reach out to him him through WW or email though.
Wow. And here I am almost caught up to the latest chapters of HJC... Only to hear that it's not picked up...
Agreed. Many great stories, are getting... Waylaid. Like 'Great Tao Commander", "Legend of the great saint" At times I wonder if I should just learn Chinese myself, and Japanese, a couple of other things as well. Might still get left hanging by an author, however it would be so much further along then those who wait for subs. Learning Chinese would take away from the time I put aside to read translated novels though... I'm not quite sure if it would be worth it in the end.
I don't think it's likely rwx will find a more suitable translator than you, i guess you would drop your 2 projects if you were to get this novel wouldn't you? I wouldn't really mind both had a very promising start, but both were a bit disappointing later, while HJC is simply among the best ones
I agree. One of the novels that I won't get tired of even if I re-read it again. Hopefully there'll be a positive reply from Ren.
For those who want to get Qidian novels picked up, I recommend using their forums Some translators seem to be working as fan translators for Qidian International, with no schedule and do not get paid by Qidian International It might be an option for people really interested in the novel I think patreon is allowed Fan Translations at Qidian International
You're absolutely right he won't. In terms of dropping current projects, I assume I'd have to drop MKRL since I'm (a) limited by time, and (b) is my less preferred of my 2 current ones. But I'd like to keep up with Son-con if time allows. Won't really know until we see how things go. But before that, I need ren to respond lol.
RIP, looks like we'll need a pickup thread for that lol I've read your translations and I think they're awesome! Thanks for translating! If you get a positive response, I hope you have fun translating HJC.
Guan Zhong has responded, asking me if I have translation experience of all things. And now back to the waiting game (has been a few days). I imagine their paper plane collection has gotten bigger if you know what I mean. With the amount effort they're putting into it, I'd imagine it'd be a while before the series gets any update. For the complaints about Zen not responding, I sure am not seeing "responsive" here.
I have read your comment on your website and i am worried about it, don't pick HJC up if you think you'd be slow.
I don't know how "slow" is defined by HJC readers, but the numbers say that I've been releasing 7 chapters per week, 3 of which I never even promised while working full-time, and I do it just because I like the series and there are keen readers. The numbers show I once pumped out 13-15 chapters in a single week while working full-time, and keeping up with my training. The numbers say I've never missed a promised release. The numbers say I sacrificed sleep to deliver chapters on time, still went to work, still trained, and still translated a chapter the next day. The records show I've been translating for several months (6 I believe), sleeping 3-4 hours, sometimes less per night to stay on top of releases, and never been late, or had a day off because of personal issues (which nobody gives a shit about), some emotional/mental funk/demotivation or whatever, or because of "burn-out" whatever that even means.
Deep breaths friend. I am sorry to hear that you trying to pick this up has become so frustrating for you. I guess all that anyone can do at this point is try to be patient (although we all know it sucks). Where'd Guan Zhong come from though? Anyways, according to what RWX was looking for, he was probably hoping for somewhere between 7 posts/week (minimum) and around 10 (ideal). But to reiterate my previous posts, I wish you the best of luck in working something out with him.
